GMS Server Status Discussion < 10-31-2011 - Eos - 2011-08-04 This is the official thread to discuss the current status of the servers, channels and general Nexon connectivity. If you really only want to see the status and have no interest in participating in discussion here on Southperry you're discouraged from registering, there's no benefit to you for doing so. You will find it more effective and expedient to simply bookmark one of the following mirror URLS of the status page; http://gmsstatus.com/ http://maplestatus.info/ http://maplestatus.com/ They update on the same schedule, load faster, use less resources and are perfect for sharing and bookmarking. Code: Red Blinking = All logins down, or master login down. Latency is now indicated in the report, including max and average. Channels that are up but experiencing a higher than normal latency will be indicated in Yellow, but poor connection speed will not impact the status results indicator. Note the contents of this thread will routinely be moved to the Archived Items forum after various outages and discussion. GMS Server Status Discussion < 10-31-2011 - Eos - 2011-10-13 By popular demand the laggy channels now show up as yellow. GMS Server Status Discussion < 10-31-2011 - SaptaZapta - 2011-10-13 Yay! GMS GMS Server Status Discussion < 10-31-2011 - Raul - 2011-10-13 What is latency measured in, milliseconds? GMS Server Status Discussion < 10-31-2011 - Eos - 2011-10-13 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microsecond GMS Server Status Discussion < 10-31-2011 - happylight - 2011-10-13 0.07 microsecond latency? That doesn't seem right. GMS Server Status Discussion < 10-31-2011 - Raul - 2011-10-13 happylight Wrote:0.07 microsecond latency? That doesn't seem right. Yeah... 7/100,000,000ths of a second? That's pretty fast. And by pretty fast I mean I'm fairly certain that exceeds the speed of light. EDIT: and is also roughly 1000x faster than good websites. GMS Server Status Discussion < 10-31-2011 - Eos - 2011-10-13 And people wonder why I suspect some people are dumber than toast. It's in seconds and microseconds, not fractions of microseconds. http://php.net/manual/en/function.microtime.php GMS Server Status Discussion < 10-31-2011 - Celan - 2011-10-13 Oh look! Windia started lagging on 2 severs when 2 El Nido and 1 Zenith severs! Looks fun. c: Edit: Yello all ova da place. Raul asked "What is latency measured in?" but he probably meant to ask "What are the units of the Latency column displayed on your GMS status page?" Seems the people "dumb as toast" understood his intent, but you answered his literal question, hence the confusion. I take it the number you're displaying is in seconds, having combined the two integers into one floating-point number. Yeah. You seem like a smart person, Eos. I would have thought you could have understood the rather obvious meaning of my post. Latency was implied to be latency here. Plus, everywhere else that one reads about latency, it is measured in milliseconds. 1/1000th of a second. GMS Server Status Discussion < 10-31-2011 - Panacea - 2011-10-13 Why does it always seem like Raul just likes to push Eos's buttons? You constantly challenge him and it doesn't make sense to me. The English language is ambiguous; what you meant in this way can be misinterpreted in that way. Settle the confusion and move on, without insulting the other's intelligence. GMS Server Status Discussion < 10-31-2011 - Raul - 2011-10-13 Panacea Wrote:Why does it always seem like Raul just likes to push Eos's buttons? Because Eos dislikes me and I don't particularly like him as a person either. I have respect for him as an admin, but I dislike his personality. GMS Server Status Discussion < 10-31-2011 - Panacea - 2011-10-13 "He started it." All I got from your post. GMS Server Status Discussion < 10-31-2011 - Raul - 2011-10-13 Panacea Wrote:"He started it." He dislikes me because he thinks that I post too much and my posts don't add anything to the discussion. Also, that I'm annoying. There's some truth in that, I'll admit. Although technically I think he's too busy trying to seem/be smart to actually accomplish it.
