Oh, I know. But considering they sometimes do exactly the opposite of what they're meant to do, you would think they'd either be fixed or removed.

Wasn't possible because of the server upgrades/replacements (well, maybe it was, but yeah).

Which means either: the server upgrade was unplanned (contrary to the Dev Blog), or they scheduled this event, and promised to give out the Maple Points on the next maintenance, knowing they'd be way too busy upgrading hardware. Either way, very professional.
