Korean MMO Firm LTime Secures $2.2M Investment - iamflip - 2011-09-19 Hey, if indie devs can make quality games for less than a quarter of a mil, I'm pretty sure the possibility exists to make a quality MMO for that $2.2m investment. What I'd like to know is who were the veterans that defected from Nexon Korea... Korean MMO Firm LTime Secures $2.2M Investment - Born2BeMild - 2011-09-19 I'd like to see what comes out of this. There's a huge dif between making a decent game that is more of a template than a game like Minecraft, for cheap, and making an MMO that has lots of features and options and customizations but also a reasonable storyline and quests and character development. Korean MMO Firm LTime Secures $2.2M Investment - Valon - 2011-09-19 This is a start up development cost, not the entire budget for the project. You have to consider most MMO creators end up selling the game to big name portals once the ground work is complete, and then just work maintenance on it for the portals. As in Wizet > Nexon. Considering members of an MMO development team are not going to be making 6 figures each, I fail to see how 2.2m wont be plenty. It's not gonna be Aion or Blade & Soul obviously, but really the only cost they'll have besides member salaries will be rent and whatever the engine they plan to use will cost. |
