Server Maintenance Changes - Mira - 2008-10-28
Greetings Maplers!
Server Maintenance will now be taking place every two weeks. We will not have one this week however we will be updating the cash shop on Wednesday October 29th, 2008 at 9am and it should take about 15 minutes. Please be aware that cash shop will be down between 9:00am ~ approx 9:15am (PDT).

You know, if Nexon takes only 15 minutes to update the cash shop, I wonder what they did with the other time in the other server checks that seemingly only updated the cash shop but took at least two hours.

Anywhos, I believe this is nothing we should be happy about - less server reboots = more chances of crashing, rollbacks, etc. - AND takes longer to get a name/server change.
They are probably doing this for two few reasons:
(1) No need for late-night / early-morning staff every week ($$$) [OR less of a need, for less time, with no specific time restrictions, if they're only going to do cash-shop updates weekly]
(2) Less complaints about 2x EXP lost (although this is hardly a main reason imo.. lol)
Oh well, we'll live.

It's not like we haven't gone two weeks without server checks before either. Most versions actually do only one or two server checks per month (or patch period). I think JMS is pretty much the only version left that does weekly maintenance.
