Energy orb questions - masterzero - 2011-07-27
Well , in 1 level I will have 10 maple warrior ( plus the obvious max demo , stransform , dragon strike , pirate revenge and 1 in the needed skills), and I wanted to use the remaining point I will have on orb , since I see no point on matching si with other buffs , I don't boss that much
So , I have some questions:
1. I have read multiple times that orb works like chain lightning blah blah blah , that it gets it's damage reduced on each target after the first , blah blah blah , I would like to know in NUMBERS what's the reduction in damage , what % damage do the other monsters receive. Also at which level can orb substitute dragon strike in how many mobs?
2. How does orb at pvp ? Dragon strike hits 4 target and pvp , and orb hits 6 even at first level , is it good? I know it's hard to find 6 target together in pvp , but maybe with orb targetting system you can hit 3 below you and 3 at your level =)
3. If orb has the same progression of damage reduced in pvp , would it be better to use orb when you're charged if you have it at max level ? Since as I said..... the biggest group you would meet in pvp would be 3-4 , would then orb do better damage than dragon strike when both maxed in pvp?

1) .9x damage each hit. 1000 -> 900 -> 810 -> etc. It was better on however many targets it hit vs ds at level 7 prechaos.
2) Orb sucks at pvp because ds is so good.

And are you sure? maybe on pvp it keeps it's spammability instead of ds

I don't know the numbers for chaos. It was buffed so it's obviously better sooner.
It doesn't. It's only good for ice knight, because orb on one target is better than DS and you need to fill demo/barrage delay with something.

then it's also good in regular pvp when you're facing one enemy?
And btw , I tried ice knight doing 1 vs 1 attacks and ds to fill , and then only ds , I did more points the second way.
I think demo gives less points than ds appart from being slower LOL

I seriously haven't found a single reason to use orb in FFA or team. If you're facing one enemy, you're going to demo or barrage or snatch or something. Every other time there is probably going to be some other dude in range for DS.
Yeah, i mostly spam DS in ice knight. I use demo occasionally so i don't get hit and die.

I have found demo not worthy on anything that hasn't got it's aura on (20 % hp left or less) , barrage too , it almost always does only HITS . DS for me is the main dps attack for buccs on pvp , even 1 on 1 , demo is only worthy to do a last burst to kill an unsuspecting opponent , since spamming ds does more damage over time than demo , but with demo you can kill steal.
With the attack potion that's another story , since demo can eat a good 50 % of the opponent's life
