One of the guys in her class (in the episode) said that. I didn't thoroughly read the article and YouTube video that I linked, so I didn't know that it skipped that bit. There was also the lack of mess in the MRI, but that's a bit more subtle.

You're basically stimulating your mind instead of your body so it is possible for males to do with enough training/thinking power. If you can control how and when your endorphins release (It is possible without outside stuff like drugs or sugar or whatever) then doing this is pretty simple.
