Huh, we were told the patch was the 20th of april.
This is quite early.

Just because we let EMS users know the patch is up doesn't mean we intend to extract it.

Gotta love an admin's power to change history.

Sometimes changing the future changes the past too.

I made a prepatcher and installed, dumb enough Big Grin
Now it says it can't run maple because "my client versions differ from the current one".
Normal?

If you try to play with a client newer than the server itself, yes, that is quite normal to be rejected.

Very normal. You won't be able to play until they install that patch, tomorrow.
If you want to play before then, you need re-install the complete 0.67 client (might need to download it again).

Ah thanks guys, I never prepatched before.

So is it used to get earlier into the game?

Or what is the point then of Prepatching?

PS
Sorry if it is a dump question, I'm new to it

Prepatching simply lets you patch ahead of time. That enables you to log in as soon as the put the servers back up, instead of starting the actual patching at that moment.

Typically you want to pre-patch after the game is already down, so that you can log into the game faster once it goes back up. Most people begin patching right when the game does go up, so they have to wait longer to play.
