Why does everyone hate Grass starters? They are seriously the best looking, and sweetest of all three. Those of you that joined the Smugleaf bandwagon do not count. Five generations of Grass, never look back.

Yes, they may be risky to use, but they get useful recovery moves; the marvelous Leech Seed; they can stun, poison or induce sleep; they are affected by sunny (and sometimes rainy) weather; some are bulky, some are really fast. To sum it up, they have a variety of tricks to overcome their weaknesses.

When I first played my Red version on my grey block game boy I started with charmander. On saphire I started with cindaquill if my memory doesn't fail me.
At that time I knew nothing about which type was good or not, I just liked the fire ones.

yeah gold/silver/crystal
Sapphire: Treeko, Mudkip, and Torchic.
gen 1 starters=all of the highest tier (from what my friend told me)
gen 2 starters=only cyndaquil was on the highest tier, all the other starters were 2nd highest (also from what my friend told me)

Leech seed never worked fast enough against me. Will in Silver tried it on me, and it didn't really do much. And I was using a team of lv 45's.

Oh... Try using it with a bulky Grass-type with Leftovers and Synthesis, you'll love it.

5 generations of fire starters, never looked back, even when i had to pick a monkey with it's head on fire (which ended up pwning later, and i didn't even knew, lol)
heck, on platinum i did the run with charmander as my starter, YES, CHARMANDER.
and i chose tepig this time, i don't like any of the 3 designs though

Also, idgaf about the Snivy bandwagon. Not my fault the other two starters are ugly as sin when fully evolved.
Heck, i don't like 80-90% of the new generation.
