Elemental Weapon's % Effect Reversed? - Abysseon - 2011-03-12

Read a thread on basil where players are stating that the elemental weapons (tested with wand 7 and 8)
are reversed in their % bonus effects:

Elemental Wand 8 gives +10% Ice/+5% Lightning as opposed to +5%/+10%.

Elemental Wand 7 gives +10% Lightning/+5% Ice as opposed to +5%/+10%.

Quote:I've been experimenting with the damage of my ele wand 8 and I'm getting some strange numbers.

Due to the nature of variability these numbers aren't exact, but I think they still demonstrate that something could be wrong.
Set-up 1: 12809 range using a dark ritual
Set-up 2: 12744 range using an elemental wand 8 (supposed to be lightning)
I went to brown teddies and spent 10-15 minutes using ice strike and using CL for each set-up. Only the first hit of CL was considered.

CL range with set-up 1: (98k, 126k)
CL range with set-up 2: (102k, 133k)

The difference between the top damages I saw is 7k; it should be around 12.6k

IS range with set-up 1: (58k, 77k)
IS range with set-up 2: (64k, 85k)

The difference between the top damages is 8k; if it were only a 5% bonus it would be about 4k.

Quote:Decided to try this out for myself. I have +12% total damage on my Estaff 8, which is supposed to primarily boost lightning attacks.

Max range: 22639

Expected max with CL30 (lightning) if 5% increase on 10% PDrate enemies: 22639 x 7.4 x 1.5 x 1.12 x 1.05 x 0.9 = 265,968
Expected max with CL30 if 10% increase on 10% PDrate enemies: 22639 x 7.4 x 1.5 x 1.12 x 1.1 x 0.9 = 278,633

Observed max with well over 100 trials with CL30 on 10% PDrate enemies: 265,809.

Okay, what. Ice next.

Expected max with ID30 (ice) if 5% increase on 10% PDrate enemies: 22369 x 2.6 x 1.5 x 1.12 x 1.05 x 0.9 = 93,448
Expected max with ID30 (ice) if 10% increase on 10% PDrate enemies: 22369 x 2.6 x 1.5 x 1.12 x 1.1 x 0.9 = 97,898

Observed max with well over 100 trials with ID30 on 10% PDrate enemies: 97,065.

Foced to conclude that the elemental bonuses are infact the wrong way 'round. GG. ~_~

Can anyone else test this out with two different elemental weapons (fire/poison) or (ice/lightning)?
