Did Nexon really ban any innocent people? - RoxStarz - 2008-09-26

I know that the forums have been filled with people compaining they were unfairly banned by the Big Foot Glitch. I have to admit I have been skeptical of every claim, and here is one example of why.

I was banned 10 days for glitching Big Foot. That was a fair assessment as I gained 14 lvl's off of Big Foot. When I logged in after being banned for 10 days another player in the guild logged back on for the first time after their 10 day ban. They told me they have been banned for 10 days and all their friends had been banned for 10 days. Paraphrasing here, but that they hadn't fought Big Foot, and that they were banned because "they leveled too fast." I didn't make an issue of anything, but I know for a fact, because I saw it with my own eyes, that this player botted at Jr. Newties.

The player would sit at Jr. Newties on a rope and cast Holy Symbol as fast as it could be cast. Maybe the player sat there for hours on end constantly spamming Holy Symbol, or more realistically they put something on the keyboard to bot Holy Symbol. This player and all of their friends got banned for "no reason whatsoever." I wonder how many players got banned "for no reason whatsoever."

One of my guild members, a Bishop, was a victim of this mass ban. I don't think BF is a good place to get EXP for Bishops, considering that Ultimate spamming is much more faster and efficient.

Also, take note that only two classes (Hermits and F/P Mages) were able to exploit the mechanics of BF in the manner to gain massive amounts of EXP.

I'm also sure that a bunch of people here got banned unjustly. Maybe you should talk to some of them so they can give their take on their bannings. (Not including the ones that knowingly exploited BF)

I'm pretty sure Ice Demon afflicted big foots (feet?) as well.

Keep in mind that they also mentioned other forms of unfair power leveling. I think what they did was that they also banned everyone who leeched for a period of time from a 4th jobber. That's probably why all these bishops are getting "falsely" banned, even though they've never been near bigfoot.

Hey nexon, a tip:

When a class is gaining exp so fast the autoban catches them, maybe the class is broken. :0

Problem is, a DK friend of mine got banned for 7 days. He didn't touch BigFoot, nor did he leech from BF glitchers or AMs or anyone else. He did, though, buy a lot of 2x, solo Wolf Spiders, and level like a beast (at 10x, too).

I completely trust him and know it wasn't his fault.

Let's face it, Nexon just banned anyone who gained EXP fast. Rolleyes Besides, leeching from AMs and Bishops isn't against the ToS at all, as long as you pay them in mesos, not NX or real life currency, and as long as you aren't botting. Nexon said so themselves.

Did Nexon really ban any innocent people? - rassilon - 2008-09-26

Yes, from what I read in various places, the majority of people who got banned for "leveling too fast" either abused Bigfoot, partied with someone who was doing that, or bought/sold leeched EXP. Some, however, simply bought 2x cards during 2x events and trained like mad; these people are in the minority, I think.

So yeah, some innocent players got banned. Not many, but some.

Kikolovex3/Unceasing - I believe both were banned without reason during that banning.

They banned a pomegranate load of people that they thought was "Bigfoot" glitching.

F/P's are far from broken lol.

Yes indeed. I can be an example. As far as I am aware, I have done nothing wrong. Is it possible I did something wrong? God knows. There are way too many holes in that damned ToS, so they can make anything seem wrong.

Here is a reply to my 7th ticket about my banning:

People you know =/= the entire userbase.

Here, let me repeat it for you: People you know =/= the entire userbase.

One more time, okay? People you know =/= the entire userbase.

There have been unfair bannings in every major surge Nexon has done, and to deny this shows nothing more than blatant ignorance.

In this last ban, people who've never even gone to CWK were banned. People who hardly leveled were banned. Hell, even people who did nothing more than log on once a day to solo Pap and log back off were banned.

How the hell can you even attempt to justify this?

Did Nexon really ban any innocent people? - IcyGreenTea - 2008-09-27

How do you justify the Hak auto bans too?
The CWK auto bans as well?

I am laughing at Nexon right now because they are making majority of players too scared to go into the new area they have only released for a few months. I am personally too scared to go into CWK to try out the windraiders on my sniper. I don't want to get banned.

Did Nexon really ban any innocent people? - haha01haha01 - 2008-09-27

ofcourse people were falsely banned. even if not in the bigfoot autobans, tons of people got falsely autobanned because of other stuff.

Here are some questions/ideas for everyone to consider - once again.

There are sure a lot of people that we *trust* and ends up "hacking" us too, aren't there?

Bishops are still the ultimate leechers even in 4th job thanks to HS.

Banned for nothing? When was the last time you said something bad or was mean to someone? What about that mule account that you bot in FM with? How about mass defames? How about KSing?

There were sure a lot of hackers who also stood fast on their claims of legitimacy as well.

The whole "trust" issue seems to be another sad example of the People vs. Pixels debate here in MS, and there were cases where things have been taken too far for both sides. (I would imagine things to have been as bad as using religion to prove a hacker's innocents to the breaking of marriages/relationships, real-life ones that is, all over a few pixels.) It's still quite hard to draw a fine line when it comes to this.

I believe the harassment cases (Badmouthing people, KSing) are only 1-3 day bans, and that they won't do anything about mass defaming. (The only exception is if the mass defaming was done due to fame hacking, but I haven't recalled anyone getting punished for doing this.)

Of course it's reasonable to be banned for FM mule botting, but then again, I haven't heard much about such bannings occuring, given how the same FM guilds take over and control FM 1 CH 1 with their names gladly posted.

And about the hacking thing, was there a mass banning after the PG hacking incident?

Did Nexon really ban any innocent people? - Laur - 2008-09-27

There are some people who deserved the banning in some way, shape, or form. But there are others, like me, who have done nothing to deserve a ban - especially not a 33 day one.

1. I've been to Big Foot - yes. But the one and only time I did was with a Mage who didn't glitch the monster in any way. He isn't banned, but I am.
2. I gained atleast 15 levels from the time Big Foot was released, but that was with a 2x exp card and heavy training with my boyfriend at Himes. No "leeching" occured, no spamming of the HS, or any other reason Nexon's pulled out of their ass for banning people.

80% chance ----->
Nexon won't unban you if you send them tickets. Nexon will extend your ban if you send them tickets harrassing them. Nexon will not admit that they are wrong.

20% chance ----->
File a ticket requesting proof of illegal activities done with your character.
File a ticket in the wrong section of the logging ticket area because some GM's are gay. Or as you can see the reply from the GM of the above dude: GM Crash is uncool.

If you file a ticket in the wrong section, your ticket will most likely be looked more into by a GM that doesn't specialize in the field that the mass amounts of people who have gotten banned unfairly are sending their proper ticket to.

Kiss the GM's ass. GM Lallent likes cookies, and is your friendly ex-neighborhood super hero. When the GM replies to your ticket and you are unsatisfied with your reply. Log another ticket, quoting their reply and asking for them to justify themselves. Their first response is negative and vague. Get under their skin until they give you what you want.

=)

Emphasis on being mature and polite.
Also use these faces a lot in your ticket:

^_^, Big Grin, =D, =)

Good luck to you cos it worked for me
