Base DEX - Jirai - 2008-07-02 I'm sure as a Warrior you're well aware of how important capping your base DEX is. I created my character quite a while ago and was told that I should cap DEX at 80. ...So I did. But now I regret it. It would take $124 to reset 40 of that DEX into STR. That's quite a lot of money to spend just to improve my damage. But that's 40 more points into STR, 8 levels worth of STR. And I would still have just about enough acc to hit everything I would train on. What would you do, leave the DEX as is, or spend the money towards reseting it? Base DEX - Mira - 2008-07-02 I personally have 85 dex, lolololololololol. I made my warrior a long time ago, too. I say keep your dex as is. It's not like DMG is everything in maple, plus it may come in hand later... Base DEX - Tiffany - 2008-07-02 Throw some junk into MTS and try resetting some of it and see how that goes. Base DEX - TLeviathan - 2008-07-02 Use MTS for NX to reset. Yea it'll cost you a pretty penny, but it's a digital penny you're spending instead of those real ones in your pocket. Base DEX - Hazzy - 2008-07-02 You can try Trade-Merchating, or you can keep your high-Dex and try to make it up with overall STR scrolls. xP Course, 40 Str on a Sauna is less than a 1% chance of happening... Lol. Get a Warrior overall with 7 or so Str. xP Now you're up to 3.6% chance of getting to to 40 Str. XD Hmm, both seem hard, I say go hybrid. Getting 25 Str from scrolls on a warrior overall would give you over 30 Str. The other 10 could be reset via Trade. 10% chance of getting 5/10 30%s to work. Not that hard.
Base DEX - TLeviathan - 2008-07-02 Hazzy Wrote:You can try Trade-Merchating, or you can keep your high-Dex and try to make it up with overall STR scrolls. xP I'd take my chances with the MTS rather than scrolling a str overall. As it is, the difference between a good top/bottom and a good overall isn't very great (and if the TS is resetting dex before switching to a top/bottom from dex overall, he should do that first). You get 5 resets for a 10att wg (and a little leftover nx) which isn't horrible (at least it's not real money). Base DEX - Jirai - 2008-07-02 The thing with MTS merchanting is that I'm not exactly rich meso-wise either. A large portion of my money goes towards potions for training. Base DEX - TLeviathan - 2008-07-02 Jirai Wrote:The thing with MTS merchanting is that I'm not exactly rich meso-wise either. Hunt then, is my suggestion. At the least it's something to work towards while you're on MS. You could go out and get a part time job and nail the nx pretty quickly, but if you'd rather not, I suggest you earn the mesos ingame (or just fork over the real cash). Base DEX - solid_ice8 - 2008-07-02 do quests and mts the scrolls 10%/60% glove atk/staff/wand/claw/crossbow/bow 30% overall int/luck/dex all of these can be gotten from quests of course staff/wand/dagger/claw/bow/xbow will depend on your class in terms of level 40 quests the 30%'s are 100% rewards from lv80+ showa quests and vic quest Base DEX - Jirai - 2008-07-03 Hunting is my best best. Recently I've just become a quest hoar, so I've done pretty much every worthwhile quest. Base DEX - (D-_-)-D - 2008-07-03 Wait for a sale. If you a sader/wk hope for a price drop on rigbol Also, higher dex allows you the awesome taru spirit cape. Base DEX - Stereo - 2008-07-03 Don't worry about it unless your acc exceeds what you train on. Presumably you'd be spending mesos you earn toward improving your gear - well the MTS provides a way to turn mesos into AP resets, which in turn improves your damage. I'd say it's definitely worth resetting, I have under 40 base dex and I could probably handle under 20 if I was optimizing my gear (right now, I'm wearing str-based items since I have excessive acc). You can get a decent STR boost out of gear, but lowering base dex is inevitable if you want to improve your damage - overall dex scrolls are simply the best stats for the item slots. 10/30% = 5 dex 3 acc, which is worth nearly 9 STR. You should try to focus your gear toward str/atk though before you go for resets - facestompers, str pink cape, etc. are cheaper than resetting AP. Once you've got all the attack gear you can manage, and you still have extra accuracy, you might as well go for the resets. In the 12x range leveling up helps more than gear or base stats, if you don't have much money then don't worry about your base dex, focus mesos into training and you'll find that soon it's much easier to earn cash. Base DEX - Ranylyn - 2008-07-03 Offtopic: omg at Stereo's Location saying Ontario, me too! 0_o Ontopic: Just do what you can, when you can. Resetting it 5 points at a time is decent. I had 75 dex on my page, down to 65 now. It wasn't TOO bad, as opposed to resetting it down to 40, which is ideally what I'd like to have it at endgame, and the difference is there, for sure. The only problem is that I no longer hit Zombies 100% of the time, but that's okay since I haven't trained there with my girlfriend's priest in awhile. The MTS is definitely good advice, although the profits will be lower, you'll save lots of real cash, which is the point, right? Base DEX - wobbufet - 2008-07-03 I did exactly the same on my DrK and I was planning to reset it too via MTS, but now I made another character I'll just let it wait... Anyways a good way that I've recently discovered to gain lots of scrolls for MTS is hunting the new yeti mini boss. It drops Glove atk 60% / Cape INT 60% / Staff / Wand / Lots of other scrolls. If you check the avg prices on the MTS for them and put them slightly lower you'll have guaranteed quick NX. Base DEX - Simon - 2008-07-03 my base dex is 50, i started the character after 3rd job advancement was announced on hidden street now with the dex earrings, ht pendant and what nots... im planning to go dexless (of course after i get ht pendant).. which will be a LONG LONG LONG LONG LONG time, so... in the MEANtime... i MTS like EVERYTHING... trying to get 100k+ NX, im at 35k so far
Base DEX - HiiEN - 2008-07-03 From what I see if you're short on meso and NX you've got quite a ways to go, but there's no rush if it doesn't overall affect your training. Accuracy only really becomes an issue when you're bossing. Base DEX - Taiketo - 2008-07-03 Meep, I would wait til Christmas etc before buying any large number of AP resets. Remember how they went on sell last year? I was able to get 20 for only $25 or so... I'd reset your dex, but not at $3.10 each. I currently have 30 base and 138 acc before pills and an unscrolled zhelm, so I could actually reset more too, I just don't see a point at that much per reset. Base DEX - Hero - 2008-07-05 I'd say reset. I had 90 base dex and 7 luk, and some points into HP/MP at 114. I started resetting; reset to 4luk and pulled everything out MP, and reset my dex to around 60 at first. I still had no problems with accuracy, but I was short on money. I started buying NX offa' friends, and eventually MTS'd a bit. Down to 25dex right now, but enough accuracy to go dexless. It's all about if you want to reset, eventually it'll be your only upgrade left. For a damage whore like me, that means gogoreset$$. The extra damage really adds up. You're practicly gaining a level each 5 resets. You want to reset from 80 to 40dex? That's 40 points; 8 levels. In theory you'll be hopping from 120 to 128 but still have the easy leveling from 120. Base DEX - Lylac - 2008-07-05 If you have the money and you care that your character can hit a couple hundred damage more with power strike, then go ahead. Personally, since I'm not a damage whore, I wouldn't waste all that cash. |
