The City of Lights - NoWaizMatt - 2008-09-21 Yay, another MapleAddition from Mr. Matt =D! The City of Lights The city of lights is a new, high tech, neon filled city. The technology here is so advanced...not even New Leaf City can compare. With huge skyscrapers from one end of the city to the other, neon signs everywhere you looks, gorgeous fountains that light up, reflection pools, a metro, and everything you need for the dream city, The City of Lights has it all. The origin of the city comes from people immigrating from Ossyria. A particular group of people, the Odans, were very intelligent. They had created some of the leading Science experiments for Orbis, Ludibrium, and even Aqua Road. Eventually, other people started to lag behind. Jealous, leaders of Ossyria kicked them out of the continent. They decided to immigrate to a new island off the coast of Masteria. On this island they started to construct a city. Day by day, more Odans came, more people converted to become Odans, and the city became incredibly large. Pamphlets were sent out to everyone around the world, urging them to come to the city. Few came, but it still ran as a city. About 300 years after the original Odans came, a new batch decided to perk up the city. They built a new section, the Shining Light, which was a park. This park had everything, from fun activities to monsters you can train on. Upset at the popularity, several Ossyrians posed as immigrants. They came over and took residence in the park. Later that year, they began their attack. Summoning monsters and throwing bombs, the park was completely destroyed. But, before they could continue their attack, they were stopped and killed, and now the park is known as the Shining Ruins. Closer into the city you get to Downtown, known as the Shining Sky. Everything in the city has "shining" in it's name due to the spectacular appearance of the city. The Shining Sky has dozens of tall skyscrapers which make perfect shopping and training areas. In the Shining Sky, you can buy almost every weapon in the game, and forge high leveled ones. There are even new weapons, armors, and items available to be bought. On the outer edge of the city is the Shining Outskirts, where most of the Odans take residence. Just beyond the Outkirts is the Shining Cave, in which a terrible beast resides. You are allowed to take it down, but you must have completed several tasks for the Odans in order to prove your bravery. The Shining Outskirts is easily the toughest place in the city. It's a rural area with many high leveled monsters, ranging from 110 to 180, which is the boss. The Shining Cave is pretty much a complex puzzle. You form in parties of no more then 30 people. There are 5 main corridors. There is one for each party. After each corridor, there are 6 more portals, one for each member. Each member of each party must get to room 20, which is accessed once solving the puzzle. To solve the puzzle, you must use a Math formula. In each room there are 5 doors. The door will take you to another random room. After exploring each door, you must figure the pattern. The pattern randomizes with each new group of 30 people that enter. Figuring the pattern will allow you to arrive at room 20. The City of Lights is accessed only through the Odan secretary of Ossyria. At Orbis, Ludibrium, and El Nath, there are people standing right next to the Free Market entrance. He will ask you if you would like to visit the city for a fee of 50,000 mesos. If you say yes, you will be immediately teleported to the city. The Monsters There are a bunch of different monsters in The City of Lights. This is all for now. I'm slowly running out of monster ideas, so PM me if you want to send some ideas. Also, I'm looking for a monster sketcher, if possible. The City of Lights - JezzaRules - 2008-09-26 Interesting place =). Any area boss here? Anyway I'm not a good monster sketcher, basically I splinch mobs body parts to form new monsters (like I did with the Brown Tree Monkey in Raveolria) The City of Lights - NoWaizMatt - 2008-09-26 Hehe, finished the monsters. The City of Lights - JezzaRules - 2008-09-26 Whoa... your areas monster level range is quite vast. To top it off, it's stronger than Time Temple not to mention my next expansion area. The City of Lights - NoWaizMatt - 2008-09-26 Hehe. It's wide for one main reason: training. There is not one area in maple (yet) that has training applicable for all levels. Or even areas fun for all levels. My city takes into consideration the maple population as a whole, so it allows for a wide range of levels. The City of Lights - NoWaizMatt - 2008-09-26 Added in maps for the Shining Sky. The City of Lights - NoWaizMatt - 2008-10-04 Completed the Ruins maps. The City of Lights - randompeep - 2008-10-04 Are you planning on making a world map? The City of Lights - NoWaizMatt - 2008-10-04 The only thing I am good at, digital art wise, is making sigs. So that would probably be a no, unless someone could offer their support and create a world map... The City of Lights - randompeep - 2008-10-04 It doesn't have to be complex. It could be like Jezza's world map of Raveolria or w/e. The City of Lights - NoWaizMatt - 2008-10-05 Added the maps for the Shining Outskirts and the Shining Cave, which means all maps are done. The City of Lights - NoWaizMatt - 2008-10-07 Done! |
