Windows 7 lag spikes - related to map size? - Phoenix Wright - 2010-12-17 I've recently come to the conclusion that whenever I play on Windows 7, I only have these lag spikes in large size maps. Lower Ludi maps, some Leafre maps, those El Nath maps with the Dark Y&P and the Werewolves, etc. but not in, say, Ariant and Magatia maps, which are short in height and not really all that long, either. Nor do I have problems in Papulatus' boss room. Is it possible that these spikes are related to map size? Windows 7 lag spikes - related to map size? - Locked - 2010-12-17 It's caching more images, so yeah most likely. Windows 7 lag spikes - related to map size? - TugboatWilly - 2010-12-17 i only have lag when leaving pap's map. other than that it's fine. :f6: Windows 7 lag spikes - related to map size? - Sarah - 2010-12-17 I lag like pomegranate in EVERY SINGLE CITY (on XP). I believe it's the new MapleTV. Thing drives me nuts. Windows 7 lag spikes - related to map size? - Alilatias - 2010-12-17 I have Windows 7, and honestly... I haven't had any lag problems at all this patch. Then again, I've mostly been confining myself to Singapore/Malaysia and Ariant/Magatia. I did go to Ludi yesterday, but didn't have any problems there either. (Then again, I haven't tried bossing yet. I expect to DC.) Windows 7 lag spikes - related to map size? - motomage - 2010-12-17 In large maps i've noticed a small screen lag that occurs in the same time intervals, if it gets annoying i restart maple it usually will stop. The main lag issue i've noticed is that if you get 4-5+ people in a map with mobs/attacking... it starts to lag pretty bad. i've never had that issue. its also something most of my party members complain about. i dont know if its one skill or another that is causing it or >____> Windows 7 lag spikes - related to map size? - Jamie_Kurosawa - 2010-12-17 Actually it's the amount of people in a given area. Go to a town where a lot of people are versus the wilds where fewer people are and notice the lag difference. MS normally uses about 250-400 MB of RAM, but it spikes to ridiculous levels at Pap, Zakum, and Kampung. Crazy memory leaks.

Windows 7 lag spikes - related to map size? - RoxStarzzz - 2010-12-18 Ever since I disabled my sound drivers I have had zero problems with Windows 7. I can boss fine, go into fm fine, no lag, it seems the sound memory leak has been the culprit to win7 incompatibility. Windows 7 lag spikes - related to map size? - ultimax21 - 2010-12-18 Its for every OS, nothing to do with win7 incompatibility. The memory leaks have something to do with the bgm which is why it loops so much. However, the old dcing issues from pre bb for win7 and vista still exist even if you disabled sound drivers. By the way, these issues are supposed to be fixed on dec 20th, so we'll see what happens from there. This is windows XP, after I killed pap. Funny thing is, this crap screws up my wallpaper too, it won't even show up.

Since I have turned off those sound drivers I have had zero problems dc'ing or anything else. It completely fixed the problem. I went and Solo'ed Zakum after disabling those drivers as a test and it worked flawless. I have never completed a zak run on win7 before this and I have yet to dc since making that change. Just because it worked better for you doesn't mean it works for everyone. I brought 16 people to Czak 2 times and half the people always dc (all said they had sound drivers off). Again, the sound driver issue has nothing to do with win7/vista incompatibility it only fixed the music looping issue. |
