JMST Information - larmie - 2010-11-03

I'll put all my observations here.

General
  • 1x exp rate
  • You start off with one-tenth of the Nexon Points you have in your account.
  • 2x tickets are back. You can only buy it if you had >7000 NP on your Nexon ID prior to November 1st to buy it. (two week 2x ticket costs 700 NP)
  • There's a Facebook and Twitter UI in-game. A gray mushroom with a lock on it appears on the right side of the screen which opens the UI when you double click falso accessible through System Setting). I'm guessing some sort of a chat window shows up that lets you post or tweet from the UI window.
  • 120 Visitor Cube was removed
  • Minimizing does not cause the screen to go black (works fine on both resolutions)
  • The new Japanese font is very hard to read and cannot be read on 1024x768 (you'd need glasses)
  • There's a "easy mode" minimap which shows all the platforms/ladders
  • Resistance is not yet available
  • Infinite chat log
  • Jipang is accessible through Kerning City (haven't checked yet)
  • Christmas Town is available: Winter-related items that increase exp / drop rate (sold in Christmas Town: White Christmas Hill; bought with Christmas Snow Crystals - llkely a December event). There are also items sold for Golden Snow Crystals (one for chair, two for 30-day riding cover and 2 to 5 for 15% scrolls that has the same effect as a 10% scroll)
  • Not fully compatible with Win7 (around the same level of compatibility as JMS pre-BB?)
  • You can access pachinko through the Door of Dimension
  • Quests with starting levels above your level has a lightbulb with a lock while quests with starting level below shows up in a gray lightbulb
  • Mushroom ramen (salt) costs 550 mesos, in line with other potion prices
  • There is a portal to Leafre in Port Road: Victoria's Wooden Platform along with ships to Orbis, Ereb, Edelstein (not active) and Pelly to take you to Jipang.
Spinel was removed; all world tour maps are inaccessible except Jipang
Official notice clarified that Spinel was removed recently (likely a quick fix for the lock-in glitch) - see below.
  • Maplestory anime-related NPCs were removed; TCG NPCs are in a special (test-server only?) event map
  • Mushmom, Papa Mushroom and Zombie Mushmom all spawn outside Henesys. The map Papa Mushroom used to be in is still there.
  • Monster cards do drop - Double-click monsters to open monster book It doesn't have any of the newly added monsters like Royal Fairy.
  • Jipang map spawn have not changed. Himes only do 800~900 dmg now (while nearby zombie did 2300~2400 dmg) The yakuza boss only did 1200~1300 dmg w/ machine gun. Looks like dmg was severely nerfed.
  • Exp awarded upon quest completion were not changed for Jipang World Tour quests - as a result Jipang World Tour quests give roughly ten times as much exp as equivalent quests
  • Install and ETC tab switched places (Equip, Consumer, ETC, Install, Cash Shop Items)
  • Some quests give outlandish amount of experience - Quest "A job from Payson" gives out 15k exp when it used to give out just 100 esp.
  • Mulung Garden is now spelled Mureung Garden
  • Windows no longer close on forced map movement

Glitches
  • There are (nerfed) Masteria mobs all over the place (probably from the Halloween quest) that instantly kills you early on (~800 damage) making things very difficult
  • Entire channels go down (frequently) with several minutes worth of rollback each time.
  • Hellbanning is in progress; people are being randomly banned.
  • Bosses do not show up on World Map
  • If you click a detailed map for the second time (a map of Dead Mine for example) you can't right click or press esc to zoom out

  • Some quests are glitched (all ? marks)
  • Bunch of ? marks show up when you put your cursor over "(NPC) Position" in the Quest window
  • D/C on exiting Kerning Square, quest in Lien that moves you to a training ground (null pointer). Unlike the main game though, You're transported to Henesys after encountering null pointer error instead of being locked out

Jobs-related
  • Double shot does not require a point in arrow blow.
  • Jumpshooting is possible
(It'll be difficult testing all jobs under 1x exp; I'll start with the ones posted here)

Update 15:20 JST: The server finally collapsed. One by one channels became permanently disabled until all of them became inaccessible. None of the channels that collapsed had more than half the maximum number of players on the log-in gauge and the channels seemed to automatically restart over and over as it crashed again and again. Verdict: The JMST client is fatally unstable.

Update 2:45 JST The server seems stable now but it might be because no one's on.

Update 5:00 JST From official notice:
Nexon Japan Wrote:■11月3日(水Wink 修正済み
スピネルに話しかけた後閉じ込められてしまう問題

Translation Wrote:Fixed on November 3rd (Wed.)
The problem of being locked-in after talking to Spinel

So Spinel was removed temporarily. World Tour probably remains. Way off: Spinel can still be accessed via the Dimensional Door if you're above level 20.

I'm surprised No one has extracted data from the Tespia client.

I can solo Castellan after BB then (unless it gets changed, I mean after all it's Tespia).

That is, if GMS follows JMS's BB changes. Because from what it looks like right now, they're following a slightly different path from KMS (which should have been predicted, considering all the features KMS doesn't have)

Let's hope they do.

Yay for the monster book!

JMST Information - Aggravate - 2010-11-06

For all those Jipangu bosses that have nerfed stats in jMST, do they still give the same exp?

No they do not.

I sure do hope with all my heart that GMS will follow JMS' path. At least for things like that.

NOOo! I'd still love the painful 18k slap from anego the peach!

JMST Information - iLbi - 2010-11-07

I can confirm all of this except:

-Jipang is accessible through Kerning City (haven't checked yet)
-Hellbanning is in progress; people are being randomly banned.
-Bosses do not show up on World Map
-If you click a detailed map for the second time (a map of Dead Mine for example) you can't right click or press esc to zoom out
-Some quests are glitched (all ? marks)
-Bunch of ? marks show up when you put your cursor over "(NPC) Position" in the Quest window

And the nerfed Masteria mobs were only spawning due to an error in an Event Quest. Completing the quest spawned the monsters, causing havoc which was resolved the first night during a SC.

In addition to your list & for potential testing:

A level up NPC has been added for tespia (Found in the Event Map, last option on the Dimensional Mirror NPC)
The Dimensional Mirror has lobbies for several PQs, Spinel, and a few others as well as the old stuff (Dojo, etc).
Edit:
Background images are visually glitched while in the higher resolution (Centered with black border, or various other glitches)
HiRes is A LOT more Vista friendly compared to GMSv91 in Window Mode.

Wait... Jumpshooting as in Archers being able to regularly jumpshoot like an Assassin/Gunslinger, or was there previously some kind of belief here that Big Bang implemented something that prevented Archers from jumpshooting in any way?

I'm assuming the former, but I'm just making sure.

Third option: Larmie didn't know how to jumpshoot and just learned.
In kMS, jumpshooting by will isn't possible.
