do you intend to start over after big bang? - Polka - 2010-10-08

we're constantly seeing threads regarding questions about which classes will be best, what people should be using, etc. which makes me wonder what most people intend to do after big bang. so just a simple poll, explain reasoning in your post.

i intend to carry on with my current characters (with the addition of a battlemage) because i don't see any value in starting from scratch for better dps or because my classes aren't the same as they used to be.

i don't really have a lot more to add but i'm interested in seeing the reasoning of others

Yes. With a Wild Hunter. I'm poor as a church mouse, already have crossbows ready, and they have free mounts.

Focusing on more than one character has never been very rewarding for me.

i currently train evenly on a bowmaster and a buccaneer. I think i'll stick to those until battlemages come out. My bishop needs a blessing mule and a ring =(

If I ever come back to MS....no. My DrK takes a lot of time for me to maintain and whatnot. I don't feel like wasting time on another character when I have poured so much of my resources into giving my DrK everything that he needs. Tongue

I already did start over. I started my F/P about a month after Big Bang came out in KMS. No point in waiting around for it to come out here.

lvls 1-120 is so easy in big bang, so why not have all types of jobs Big Grin

No. Not going to start another character.

May or may not quit my Archmage if I end up not liking post-BB gameplay in comparison to my Shadower. Right now he's just sitting on my account gathering dust and acting as an 18x blessing mule because he's really dull to play.

I'm definitely continuing my ranger.

I'm also going to start a page since I always wanted to try one out. High defense? Yes, please!

I may quit my Paladin and play the Dark Knight instead. Not gonna completely start over though.

It looks like they've made Paladins a 1h class, and I'm just not a fan. So I'll use 2h weapons if possible, if not, quit.

I'm gonna stick with my Corsair, but I'm gonna make a Mechanic when they come out.

More or less, yes. Quite frankly, potential and the new expectations of funding have ruined me for expectations 120+ and final gear.

I plan on doing what I had done in RO (granted I am guilty of playing a PServer with a 7x rate for it). Get every character type to the second to last job. In other words, I'll be working on my 24 characters to get them to third job. I won't even be touching scrolls for the duration of my stay in MS. I'll be finding each and every equipment set as I grow in levels and wearing them clean; as I did when I started my current main. It may have taken me 2 years just to get to 50ish back then, but I enjoyed it.

Now, I just want something to look back upon and then drop it since I can tell my addiction to this game is finally declining.

I may be the only one who sees it this way, but rather than "Maplestory Update! (BB) Big Bang!", I see it more as "Maplestory Expiration Date! (BB) Best Before". All it is is giving everyone power while expecting everyone to have gained equal increased power through potential.
That and I'm bitter about cards and vic island. Also, the introduction of OHKO-proof higher level mobs. Been loyal to snipe all this time in hopes of a play-style where I had to be extremely careful and dodge everything in an OHKO or be OHKOed situation. And don't say those mobile bosses are that kind of thing. There's a difference between sticking something to the wall for half an hour and striking your opponents down before they agro. Sure it wouldn't be the most practical training style, but it would have added variety.

But I digress. My main is dead.

I plan on continuing my bucc. Hopefully buccs will be on par with other melee classes with these new updates. I haven't seen many high leveled (15x-200) bucc vids, so I will have to see for myself when these updates hit GMS.

Heck no, 150 levels of hell? nty

With my Evan hacked, and all my attempts at restarting my Drk/Evan/Archmage failing horribly, I'm just going to start a Battle Mage.

I'm hoping more for it to be a rebirth of the chars I already have. Hopefully the gameplay will change enough to get me somewhat interested again.

Hells no. I'm actually one of the few bishops who want the changes. I hated using genesis to train, and the improvements way outweigh the cooldown.

Plus, I have a sniper, which gets a huge boost after big bang once it gets to marksman, including ultimate strafe, free HP boost and a 20 second cooldown snipe at lvl 1.

I will continue my Buccaneer and finish getting his end game equips. Then start a WH, seeing as I have some endgame equips for him as well. So far so good.

And lose all my event quests? No. But I might blow to dust off my current collection of 4th jobbers and play with their new skills for a little while, I might even raise an Evan, Battle Mage and Wild Hunter to 120 so I can make my collection complete, but otherwise I won't be "starting over".

going to try getting my dual blade to 140 then i'll focus on my marksman. Biggrin
