OK, so I finished Brewing Storm from Lukan. I talk to Lukan, no Mark of Heroism quest. wtp? Well OK, I'll do his other quest. 75 of everything later, STILL no Mark of Heroism.
Yes, I am level 70+. I have no idea why this isn't activating for me. Are there any other prereqs or something?

The mark of heroism quest comes from Jack Barricade, doesn't it? He asks for 10 gold ores and some typhon feathers if I remember correctly, and maybe some other stuff.

I'll try showing Jack the keystone and try again. Maybe that'll do it.

Finish Lukan's 1st quest. Then talk to him and ask how to get to Crimsonwood Keep. Then talk to John...
Thats how I got it and alot of others.

The marker comes from John, you have to give him 4 feathers, 1 power crystal ore, and 10 gold ores. o_o;
