I don't think I feel "love" - Cancambo - 2010-09-20

You know...love. Whether it be for a family member or your significant other. I think about this constantly. You are taught that you love your family no matter what, but in the end who causes you the most harm? Is it that guy in Afghanistan that terrorizes the rest of the world? No, in the end that is very unlikely to affect you. For most people, it is your own family. Who is most likely to cause physical injury to you? For many of us it is our siblings. Who can cause you more heartache, your school or your parents? Which is more likely to actually cause you that heartache? Probably your parents. By this, why should I love them? My siblings just make fun of me because I prefer to be on the computer than do active things. That ain't cool. My dad just insults me and refuses to do any favors for me. That ain't cool. My nephew just likes to flaunt all the stuff people buy for him and not me. That ain't cool. Just by how they act towards me, I don't see any reason to actually like them. They only cause me pain. I have a sort of a "friendship" with my mom because she does help me most of all, but at the same time she's incredibly naggy and annoying. I appreciate her help with things, I just find her actual personality to be really annoying. I really just wish to alienate myself from them. The most exciting thing I can think of is moving out and losing all contact with them.

Now, as for a significant other, that's a little different story. I don't really believe in "love," but I sure do believe in finding a special person. Someone who you are attracted to and that has a nice personality. Someone who you wouldn't mind spending time with for a very long time. But, at the same time, I don't really want "lover" emotions. I desire a close friendship that is also sexually satisfying. Someone who I enjoy their company, but I am not expected to always be in "love." It is hard to explain, and differentiate the two, so sorry if I am being unclear. For many years now I have desired a girl. I enjoy her company very much, and we're great friends. I just want something a little more. I am really attracted to her, but I don't see it going anywhere because we have different views as to what a relationship is, I think. But sadly, society has created this view and I can't do anything really to change it. :/

So, what does SP think of love?

They end up hurting you because they love you. We always hurt what we love the most, because the person you love has an affect on you. You care about them, and what they do. If you didn't love them, they would cause you no harm.

As for me, relationships suck. They almost never work out with me, and I guess it gets too complex and the like. Hell, I don't even know.
