How does durability decrease? - larmie - 2010-09-02

I've been looking in Southperry looking for a formula on how durability goes down. I noticed it went down without taking any damage so it's not solely damage taken. Has people tested out how it works?

I don't want my 7th Anniversary Maple Power Pendant disappear in the middle of a HT run :/

I believe it's how long you use it, not how much damage it takes.
Don't ask me how long until it hits 0, I have no idea.

Takes 20-25,000 attacks to run them down, for the ones in GMS anyway.

When you say attack, do you mean key presses or actual number of times the enemy is attacked? As in, if I used Cannon against an enemy, would it count as one attack or 4? What bout attacking the air, or Shadow Partner?

I'm not sure. Should be easy to test though, if you attack until it locks you up (100 attacks) that should take down 2-3% if it's counting them multiple times, and only 0.5% otherwise.

Only durability weapons I actually have are the Explorer items, which I'm too lazy to check on. I know level 30-50 on my Fire Wizard only required one recharge, but it does 1 hit attacks.

It's based on how many hits you take over a time frame and how many hits you make as well... supposedly if it IS working right.

You can always increasing durability at certain places once it reaches 0. At least from what i remember

So there isn't a definitive formula out there? I'll test out what FR and Jamie said with my pendant once the current event's over. Thanks Stereo for the info Smile

It goes down by 1 every time you use an attack and hit something. Most durability items have around 20-25k, so it really depends on your class how fast you'll use that up. Repairing is cheap now anyways though.

Ah. I tested it out and it took about 325 hits to get my maple pendant down from 99% to 98%. I guess it's not an issue unless you're a BM or corsair.
