Q on Potential Stats - Flirtini - 2010-08-16 I'm a little confused about %wa and %total dmg. Let's say out of these 4 stats: 1. +%wa 2. +%total dmg 3. + %boss dmg 4. + wa for example, for a NL, what would be the order of most desired? would it be #3(most wanted),2,1,4? Still a bit confused on how %wa and %total dmg work. Thanks in advance!
Q on Potential Stats - PirateIzzy - 2010-08-16 I believe % WA is from the WA from your equips, like claw, glove, PAC, etc. % Total damage is from your total damage range. Q on Potential Stats - Fiel - 2010-08-16 +% boss dmg +% total dmg +wa +%wa All NLs are heavy bossers. The +% boss damage will be a huge boost (since it's +30% at all levels) and a huge attractor to getting you in boss runs. You already have godly damage. This makes you even godlier. +% total damage is better than +%wa or +wa. Allow me to explain... now, this is using Post-BB, but the idea is the same. With +% WA, the multiplier is added before the damage is calculated. Then the WATK is truncated. So let's say you have 100 LUK and 100 DEX and 96 WATK. +10% damage: 1.75 * (4 * 100 + 100) * (96 / 100) * 1.1 = 924 +10% WATK: 96 * 1.1 = 105 (truncates) 1.75 * (4 * 100 + 100) * (105 / 100) = 918 This is because for NLs, truncating WATK hurts more than truncating damage. Always, always prefer +% damage over +%WA. Furthermore, you'll want to trust flat +WATK over +% WATK for a few reasons. Number one, NLs have low amounts of WATK as it is. Adding 10% to WATK isn't going to help you as much as adding +10 WATK. Also, the % WATK bonuses you can get from potentialing equipment are lower than the flat +WATK bonuses (for example, you can get +6% WATK or +10 WATK). The flat +WATK is way better for NLs. Q on Potential Stats - Stereo - 2010-08-16 Total damage looks like: ((gear+4)*1 + stars/pots)*2*3 Since % boss damage is the highest percentwise it's most likely the best. Total damage increases your range the most though. Q on Potential Stats - Flirtini - 2010-08-16 PirateIzzy Wrote:I believe % WA is from the WA from your equips, like claw, glove, PAC, etc. so you add up all your wa to take % from that = %wa then your range (that XXX~XXX number?) is what you take the %total dmg from? Sorry, I never really paid attention to range and stuff on my chars (xD cuz i never really cared). Just trying to figure out if it is to better to keep "%total dmg" or cube for something better (excluding %boss, i kno thats only from unique status). -- edit -- Thanks guys! you posted before i did xD im not too good at calculating all these formulas. Really appreciate the clearup! Q on Potential Stats - Shidoshi - 2010-08-16 WA vs %total dmg and %wa depend on case: whether the ammount of WA given by the equip gives a greater percentual boost to your damage than the other two. Q on Potential Stats - Stereo - 2010-08-16 At a boss, most NLs will have something like 120+30+100 atk (30 stars, 100 pots) So: +1 wa is 0.4% increase +1% wa is 0.48% increase +1% total damage is 1% increase +1% boss damage is 1% increase But you gain them in different quantities: level/10 job job 30% flat Eg. a level 120 item will get +6/12 w.atk +3/6% wa +3/6% total damage +30% boss damage So they rank boss damage total damage w.atk w.atk % On the other hand, if you have +12 +6 +6 w.atk that's very decent too. Q on Potential Stats - Flirtini - 2010-08-16 So if we're just talking single line comparisons, we should expect that %boss is best, followed by %totaldmg, +wa, %wa. Got it! Okay here comes another question regarding the same 4 stat bonus: Do any of these stack with each other and/or wa-pots (like apples, warrior pots, etc)? I have a feeling the %boss one does not stack if you have this on 2 lines >.> And I know +wa will of course stack... @.@ all these new things can be so confusing. so glad i have you guys to explain it so nicely ;D |
