Trying to get back into MS - PieM4ster - 2008-07-01

I haven't played Maple in about... 14 Months now
but would like to come back. I heard Carnival PQ is actually uh... fun, so I'd be making a CPQ mule to regain the funds i gave away when I "quit". My question to you guys is; What is the best CPQ mule class, and what will I need in terms of equips to be effective. I can borrow a decent chunk of change from a friend, but I need to know what to buy, and probably how to obtain this stuff (lolbasil, MTS, FM).

MY CPQ mule is a Cleric, and I have npc bought things and a pig headband. You don't really need much if it's a mule, beacuse CPQ isn't the hardest thing to do. Smile Good luck with getting back into maple, and i suggest LMPQ to earn money!

The imminent release of Pirates is the only thing that brought me back.

I quit my level 69 cleric a few months ago. xd

I heard that was good too, but it doesn't seem as unique as CPQ does to me, and the 1st of the 2 times i have quit was because of Ludi PQ (regular one). I already have a 49 Cleric, so I guess I could give making him a CPQ mule a try. Problem is, I was stupid and added into that useless attribute known as Luck. Hmm. Anything good besides a cleric?

Luk clerics arn't bad. Don't feel like your horrible beacuse your not a Lukless cleric. =)

Other then cleric, I would suggest a fighter or a spearman. They seem to do well in CPQ.

Lol all classes I have already.

I am from the GFAQS boards, so I am used to saying things such as More than 4 dex on a Warrior? Restart. More than 4 LUK on a Mage? Restart. Ice Strike? Restart. Holy Arrow? Restart. I think you get the idea by now.

I'd say that either an I/L mage or any warrior would be the best classes for the Monster Carnival. Mobbing skills help a lot in certain maps.

Thats why clerics are great too. Spamming Master Chronos is a very common strategy and often not done wonderfully; when I cpq on my cleric I love when the opposing team summons them.

Regardless, for the TS, for a CPQ class I say cleric or warrior. Clerics are nice, with heal being a nice asset. Warriors do a nice chunk of damage at once, which is very nice on the rombots (plus slash blast just kicks ass).

Usually when facing a cleric the opponent won't summon master chronos, and when there are no master chronos around they can only use magic claw which is probably the weakest skill to be used in MC. The only good side of clerics is heal, but that shouldn't be overrated.

Clerics are good for, as stated above, the Master Chronos strategy commonly employed. Another good class is a Bandit in field 3/4 since most monsters are close together(funded only, really) or a Fire/Poison Wizard in field 5/6 due to Rombots being weak to fire.

I'm surprised no one has suggested a Dexless Sin. Even with next to no funds you'll be doing decent damage, and you can get max Haste by 50 without crippling your damage as a Bandit (need both Mastery and SB).

By the way, I don't think CPQ is a really good way to make money unless you get lucky with the necklaces and scrolls.

You can also use the maple coins to buy weapons and NPC them afterwards.

Warriors for their mobbing and Assassins for their damage on Rombots.

Yeah I did that

I have an unfunded dexless in Bellocan

It's doing pretty well (though subis are rather annoying. A lot of the times, it does damage "just" low enough to need another hit to kill a monster)
