This is a self portrait, done on white paper, with color charcoal collage pieces, with black soft compressed charcoal for the face.

Hehe, didn't feel like going all out on hair detail.
If its the hair texture, its just so that its not flat. If its the overall texture, its probably from the collage. I took colored pieces of paper made with charcoal pastels and glued it to another paper, which i then drew the portrait ontop of.
