Well, its not what I was expecting.

Being limited to straight down sucks, I wanted to be able to run left/right and jump downward.

i don't like it, cause it kind of destroys the sole purpose of ropes/ladders after going up. I know I will only use it from time to time and continue like normal. I think others will just use regular things to go down though, it will be hard to adapt.
It's fun to use and all but I'd prefer to not have it. Plus, looks like you're hacking.

This is awesome for climbing down towers. All you do is hold down and jump.

Using ropes for going down was pretty pointless anyway because I rarely actually utilized the rope. Usually if you're trying to get somewhere you go down just a tiny distance on the rope/ladder and jump left/right

Jump down is probably one of the most useful things implemented in GMS.
THere is a good reason why there is jump down coz if there isn't and you're at Crimsonwood Keep, you cannot exit the map if you're in the middle without down jump (unless you're a mage).
Jump down is also necessary for Time Temple.

Maxed tele uses only 3 mp for 160 distance. For any other character, I'd think jump down's great, but I have a mage.

Maybe not as useful as Haste or Teleport, but a skill is a skill. I agree with the others, if you're going to Omega to forge some iTCG, this might save you a lot of pain, (though granted a few rock scrolls would do more for you.)
