Haunted Mansion in other versions - Darkfaith - 2008-08-04

First of all im new here, and plz my english is not good enough Chin

Any way i thought about it. this year we got NLC and the Haunted Mansion and CK. But when the other versions going to relese NLC and CK they have to give the Haunted Mansion. So maybe this year, TaiwanMS will get the Haunted Mansion for ever? (It sound for me very logical)

Haunted Mansion in other versions - Tamekii - 2008-08-04

Nah,the permanent thing was because of the 'NX users only' thing (^^)
[They will get,but i dont think this year D:]

Also,we got NLC andd Haunted Mansion LAST Year o.o...

Haunted Mansion in other versions - Alloy - 2008-08-04

My guess is that they'll release it on halloween. Makes sense, and works as an extra event. I hope they add the halloween pq to be permanent too... Could be fun.

Expect it to be extremely nerfed either way. If the NLC pots went to as high as 16,000 mesos each then i can expect voodoos to be nerfed down to giving 200 exp each.

In what version are the NLC pots 16k? :f6:

Also, I think it's unlikely, since the other version's NLC is world tour, and has absolutely no storyline tied to it, hell, they don't even have iTCG yet. So no, I don't think the Haunted Mansion will be permanent in any version besides ours.

Haunted Mansion in other versions - Milelke - 2008-08-04

The only version i know that has NLC is Taiwan, and they got a nerfed one.

Which i laughed at Big Grin.

Eventually, all the other versions will get the Haunted Mansion, only itll be nerfed.

JMS has iTCG, Professor Foxwit is in Lith Harbour.

TMS has NLC, and their most expensive pot (which if i remember right are ginsengs? Probably something higher then that, i can't remember pot names at the moment) is 16k.

JMS has iTCG.

I can see JMS getting it, but for now they don't have NLC. I don't think TMS will have the mansion permanently, since they lack the story. They'll probably have CK and all the other extensions of NLC in their world tour as well. My point is; as long as they don't have iTCG, they probably won't have the NLC storyline, and they won't have a permanent Haunted House either.

Since this seems like it's a big problem, let me put it up top here in enormous letters.

No, because it also cost NX to enter in CMS, probably TMS, and EMS as well. CMS even opened it a second time, after everyone's 90 day equips had expired, to make them buy in again.

As for getting them in a year, I'm thinking he means in a year's time. Though, it's not entirely accurate since NLC was out on July 26th and we've passed that date, it's close enough to a year.

TaiwanMS has NLC, and their pots are quite expensive compared to ours, though in the test server the prices were the same.

NLC is NOT world tour in any version. It's always reached by the subway. That's because Masteria is a continent, like Ossyria, and not a dumb world tour noob place. TCG flavor text is nice, but it's hardly necessary.

JMS is getting NLC before the end of the year, it was confirmed in the same announcement that brought us Time Temple. How is TMS lacking the story, though? They had the same quests as us, in November. They didn't get NLC until about February, so the door wasn't open for them to get the mansion installed permanently. Again, NOT WORLD TOUR. They have as much NLC storyline as we do now, just lacking TCG text. heck, they even have the Best Buy store in their NLC. The Dead Portal in front of Yetinx. It's nearly identical to ours. CMS even mentioned NLC directly when they released the Haunted Mansion. Also, I'd say the fact that JMS didn't get the Mansion last year (and they were one of the only versions to not do so) might make it more likely they'll get it permanently now.

Well to get to the CK we need the hunted house. so if they want the CK and the other places they need the Hunted house?

Well, we don't know for a fact that we need to go to the Mansion to reach Crimsonwood Keep. We'll have to wait for our patch to come before we can make that decision.

Aside from Himes, world tour sucks. I hate it, too.

World tour = Pure evil.

If nlc was a world tour, that'd be like putting ossy in world tour. O.o

why all the hate for WT? i personally want singapore really bad and i know a bunch of others that do too..... As for the rest of it i've heard its all crappy areas for low lvld people and crappy quests to go along but then again isn't any new content good? or are these places so bad that they would ruin the game to be patched in?

I'm not talking about Singapore. I'm talking about crappy Floating Market, where the only trainable monster is level 8. Great for all those 1x who just can't seem to kill an orange mushroom. Or Shanghai, with map shapes worse than NLC, bad HP/EXP ratios, and Magic attacks on level 3x monsters. With the exception of the expansion Pine Forest, Mushroom shrine is the same. I think everyone has realized the truth of Showa by now, which is that without its bosses, it is nothing as well. Formosa has annoying quests and bizarre, mostly useless monsters. Taipei is the only high point, and we all know should it ever come out, it'll be nerfed to pieces.

Add into this that they contribute nothing to the storyline of the world and actually compromise the solidarity of it, and it's not hard to see why I don't like them. MSEA has almost the whole world tour, while we have only Zipangu, and you never hear anyone complain about that. That's cause they don't like it, and we don't care.

What specifically is so great about taipei? I hear their exp/HP ratios are extremely broken, but i've never heard any numbers.

I've also never heard anything so great about singapore. The only thing i've ever heard is that "oh the ghost ship is godly for clerics!" WHY? I'll assume that the spawn is godly, but the ratios? Drops? What about whatever else the town gave? The only quest i've seen is the captain latanica quest reward which is a choice of either 1m meso or exp. :X

If you could elaborate on that i'd be much appreciated. Big Grin

The HP/EXP are extremely broken in Taipei, and as I understand it the maps are all three-level places like HHG which makes them extremely good for partying/splitting. I believe the monster of choice are the CDs:
http://strategywiki.org/wiki/MapleStory/Monsters/Level_71-80#Mad_CD
http://strategywiki.org/wiki/MapleStory/Monsters/Level_71-80#Shy_CD

When you kill the Mad CD, it summons several Shy CDs. This makes mobbing them extremely good EXP. Just looking at them, you can tell they'll be great EXP well beyond level 100. There's an area like this for lower levels as well: The subway trains are full of Devil Slimes. They were so good that they got nerfed, but even after the nerf it's still the best place to train all the way up to 50.

Of course, the other monsters are the same:
Compare Boy Dummy to Lycans. Boy Dummy has 1/3 of the HP for the exact same amount of EXP. They also have a drastically higher spawn rate.

http://strategywiki.org/wiki/MapleStory/Monsters/Level_91-100#Crazy_Myou-z-Ke
The boss. Everyone thinks he looks awesome and his HP/EXP beats the pants off Capt. Latanica. He drops a special guitar-shaped Pendant, don't know the stats on it but I don't think they're terribly special.

as for Singapore, the monsters that everyone hunt have comparable stats to Hoodoo/Voodoo, but they drop Steelies and other nice things. In MSEA Capt. Latanica is hunted often for the potions that he drops, but since we have NLC potions we don't really need that. I guess it's also like a HH that you can summon at will, but it does a lot more damage...
Selkie Jr. 5,500HP/220EXP
Hoodoo/Voodoo 6,800HP/335EXP

Wow. O_____________O

Last thing: How many shy CDs spawn when a mad CD is killed? Several as in 3? Anything higher then 3 is extremely broken indeed...
