You know what they should have done? Rather than nerfing the party exp, they should have made a level difference penalty to eliminate leeching. It ruins party training.

If person A is x number of levels away from person B, who's leeching, then person B should receive very little exp per kill, regardless if they're 5 levels away from the monster or not.

This makes it so that training parties still work (depending on the level difference that is) but leeching doesn't (in most cases).

  1. There was a new EXP-splitting formula which was invented in the direction of discouraging leeching
  2. It was applied only in kMST, not kMS itself
  3. It came in the Aran patch and only applied to Arans
  4. It got removed after a certain period due to complexity and inefficiency

Now it would be wonderful if anyone can provide solid proofs and confirmation on these urban rumors.

@ Spidey: That is a very reasonable solution, but you'd have to be very careful with the level range, seeing as it is quite reasonable for a 18x Bishop to train with a 13x Melee, whereas a 14x Melee will easily be able to sell BF full-exp leech to a 9x leecher.

New formula was made -> Came with aran in KMS -> New formula sucked complete ass -> Formula was removed -> Newer formula was made -> Newer formula still sucked ass but was better and was implemented anyway -> Newer formula is probably what SEA is getting.

1. Yes.
2. The first anti-leech exp formula was indeed only applied in Tespia, but another formula was made and came to the official client along with Aran.
3. Lol no.
4. In Tespia yes, but the only things that really matters is what makes it to the official client. Once there, chances of change are low.
