HP Problem - Portent - 2008-07-22 Hey everyone, I quit my NL over a year ago. Back then we didn't have Onyx Apples or 4th jobs, and an extremely short Zrun would last about an hour. There wasn't much info about HP washing then, and I washed HP without any INT gear so I could still survive in case all DKs died (that happened sometimes...). I recently came back to playing, leveled 3 times (currently 133), and I'm in trouble because I can't wash anymore. Wearing 91 INT total when leveling allows me to HP wash 1 time per level. Which means I'll be 16x before I can survive HT. My alternative is pumping HP, but then I'll have to get to 16x before getting all the lost LUK back. Kinda hoping that I'm missing something... Any brilliant ideas?
HP Problem - Corn - 2008-07-22 You're not really missing anything...I seriously dunno why you have to wait until level 160. A typical, unwashed nightlord waits until 160 to Horntail. A typical, unwashed nightlord waits until 160 to Horntail. You need 4.8k hp for HT. I have 4k hp at the moment, after washing about 20-25 AP. If I only leveled from here on, I'd have 4.8K hp only at level 168-170. For an unwashed NL, it'll take level ~190 to get that amount of hp. HP Problem - Corn - 2008-07-22 Are you factoring in HB? HP Problem - Zaotsu - 2008-07-22 Mm. If you can afford it, you might try getting a HP scrolled Face Accessory, if you don't use it for dex. You could always switch any luk equips you have out for HP, since survival > doing a bit more damage.
HP Problem - butterfλi - 2008-07-22 If you're wearing a luk cape/overall, you can use hp stuff. Sure you lose out on damage but decently scrolled top/bottom give you about 200 hp, and an hp cape is about another 50. That's about 250np which around 12 levels worth of hp for free. Sure you do (slightly) less damage but at least it gives you a better chance of survival. It's not like anyone's gonna notice anyway lol. Alternatively, if you're holding a craven, and need dex from top/bottom/cape, use a decent scarab. Again, less damage but no one would know. If scarab, find a decent gig. HP Problem - Portent - 2008-07-22 Zaotsu Wrote: I scrolled myself a 105hp Rat Mouse, also wearing a 90hp Necklace. I have 405x hp wearing both of them. The only equip on me that I can scroll for hp is my Zhelm (Helm Acc & Helm Dex scrolls weren't out yet when I quit) since it's clean, everything else on me is required for holding my claw. Thinking Aloud: I have 405x hp at level 133. Scrolling my Zhelm to be 150 hp shouldn't be hard. So that's ~420x hp. Since I can wash once a level, I should be getting ~200 additional hp every 5 levels (starting level 143, since I already pumped in 10 ap into hp). At level 143 I'll have 440x hp. Then at 148 I'll have 460x hp. Finally, at level 154 I have 482x hp, which is what I need to HT. Or I could try and get more INT gear so I'd be able to wash twice per level. But if 91 INT aren't enough, then how much INT is enough for that? I'm dizzy. HP Problem - Retalion - 2008-07-22 butterfli Wrote:If you're wearing a luk cape/overall, you can use hp stuff. It would probably be easier to find a dexless claw (kandayo, skanda, bracer, etc) than it would be to find a gig/scarab. Though it might be more expensive, you'd probably find a 45 attack one faster/easier than a 45 atk gigantic. As to how to improve your int gear for when you level, you'd probably have to list what you're using now. You lose 12 mp per level up, meaning you'd need roughly an extra 120 INT to wash again (on top of your 91... meaning 210ish INT). I dont think ANY equips will get you that much int and if you have that much int from equips, you're better off going to start a lukless bishop or something. A slightly abstract idea but if you zak regularly, you can scroll your helm for int to gain more mp when you level, then when you're done washing, you can reloot a h elm to scroll for hp. I think max you can go for is 3 washes/2 levels but 2/level needs an almost impossible amount of int X_X HP Problem - Portent - 2008-07-22 Retalion Wrote:It would probably be easier to find a dexless claw (kandayo, skanda, bracer, etc) than it would be to find a gig/scarab. As far as I understand, you gain ~1mp for every 5int you wear as you level, so basically every ~60int = 1 wash. With the current int gear I'm using I should get a 2nd wash every 2-3 levels (I'll know for sure next level up, never really had to check these things before). butterfli Wrote:If you're wearing a luk cape/overall, you can use hp stuff. I could use a Skanda if I take off my overall, however, I'll be losing a few K's of damage per star even with a godly Skanda.
HP Problem - Findings - 2008-07-22 I'm not seeing the problem. HT is a level 160 monster, and it's not a complete joke or anything unlike Zakum. What's wrong with having to get to the level where your damage isn't reduced by the level difference? HP Problem - butterfλi - 2008-07-22 Portent Wrote:I could use a Skanda if I take off my overall, however, I'll be losing a few K's of damage per star even with a godly Skanda. You can either make yourself weaker and go HT at level 15x, or you can wait till 16x, wear dex equips and be stronger. You don't seem to like either of those options lol. HP Problem - Acim - 2008-07-22 What about a 90 HP and 90 MP necklace from cPQ? That would help a bit. I don't really understand HP washing enough to say much else. To my knowledge, you gain 1 mp per 10 points of INT but that's just what I remembered from when I wash. Can someone else clarify if its 5 points or 10? Can someone else clarify if its 5 points or 10? D: It's 10, for all classes. 10 INT = 1 extra MP at level up. Doesn't that also work for MP (i.e. 10 MP = 1 extra MP when leveled up) gained from equips? HP Problem - Pikachu - 2008-07-23 Why is MapleStory this damn complicated? On topic: Good luck horntailing after HP washing. HP Problem - singularity - 2008-07-23 HP Gain on level up is 20~24. MP Gain on level up is 14~16 + (Total INT/10), and HP Gain from AP used on HP is 16~20. You lose 12 MP when resetting AP out of MP and into LUK during washing. So..... @Portent: Here's the outlook in terms of HP for your NL (in spoiler). I'm unsure about your exact HP/MP, but I chose numbers that should be pretty close. Also, note that this isn't accounting for things like temp. Bloodmaster or downright dumping AP into HP.
Spoiler
So you should be about 154-157 to go HT unless you want to go temp. Bloodmaster/dump AP in HP. Also, you only need 4813/4850/4907+ HP during Tail/Wings in the main fight. So you should consider using HP glove, HP Cape, etc. during that part of the fight too -- you'll be able to use your normal gear during pre-heads and main fight after wings are down.
HP Problem - Silver_ice - 2008-07-25 theres a few alternatives. 1. use a 90 hp necklace add a 120 or so hp glove or an 80 hp cape. wearing 90 int gear per lvl isnt bad. i know i never had that much when i lvled but yea. one alternative but a costly one is double washing. this means you would require 8-10 ap reset cards per lvl, but u get around 80-100 hp per lvl as well, costly nx for permanent hp. heres how its done wear int gear and lvl since 2024 is needed to wash from 134 and u had 90 int id assume, ur mp will be around 2040. next, with the +90 int gear on, add ur 5 ap into mp. ur mp should go up by about 100-120. next. calculate ur total mp after removing the int gear. ill then assume 2140. so u have 100 extra mp. wats the solution? divide 100 by 12., that makes 8.333333333^ so u have 8 times u can wash wash 5 pts back into luk. now u can hp wash 3x per lvl. add in the 20-25 hp u get per lvl and ur at 75 hp higher. HP Problem - ItzAnth - 2008-07-27 I started wearing int equips around 13x's and I was able to HT at 158? xD Umm I added 15points into hpso yea . I resetted most of it out... only got 5points to reset now xD Anywho you can do that or um.. If you have money to burn you can add points into int get a good baseint +mw whenever u lvl and intequips will get u a big mp bonus xD
