Replacing Sound.wz? - FallenMemory - 2008-07-12

I didn't think this belonged in tech help, because It's not really help or a problem. I'm just curious.

My question is, Can I somehow replace my sound.wz file and custom it to play my music over and over at specific towns?

I remember a guide back awhile on how to replace the mapleTV image with your own, and i figured this would be along those same lines. So hypothetically If i wanted to delete ludi's town music and replace it with a looping segment of "eye of the tiger", could I? Thanks in advance.

You could, but you'd have to rename all your songs to have the same names of the Game Music. To do that, you'd have to find a way to decompile them, then recompile them. Well, you might be able to *.xml WZ files... I'll have to try that.

Anyway, do you remember the details of the TV image thing? I can't find Originx.swf D:

No sorry I don't remember the exact details of the tv thing, I was just using it as an example. But your saying that it IS possible to replace the songs, right?
And if so would I run into trouble with Gameguard or ban possibilities?

Not really complex. o_o
Just open up the WZ file, switch the music, then save it. Getting a program to open it us is the hard part. xD

This is Fiel's area of expertise. Tongue

If GameGuard doesn't catch it, you're fine. Moder Hacks are done via WZ editing. I remember seeing a thread on CEF titled "[release] v57 mob.wz vac" or something. :/
I know they use to make every monster healable by editing the WZ files. :/

Again, if there's any risk of it, GG will catch it, unless you use something to disable it.

Hmm, thanks Hazzy, I'll try to find a program that will open it.

Wow.

We can actually do that?

Yea, but I don't think programs that open them up exist/are public. Ask Fiel about it. xP

It works with MapleTV because it's a flash. You'd have to do as someone else said, rename them exactly to the game music, then change them into Sound.WZ. Sounds epically hard.

Not possible at this point.
