WHY ELISE
HER CURRENT SKIN IS ALREADY ORGASMIC, wtp RIOT
ZYRA? SYNDRA? RUMBLE? FIZZZZ? ; - ;
On a calmer note, Abuse broken champs, be victorious. T_T
Also, gold or higher? everyone in this game is gold now and half of them shouldn't even be >_>
excellent, time for my yearly summoner icon
except for season one where I didn't qualify for bronze
it ends oct 31st? is that right? I hope it's not.. I have to hurry and get to plat
Edit - nvm haha. Wow for some reason I thought it ended in 4 days.
Sooooo time for ranked? How Do-able is to get from Unranked to Gold in 2 months? Then again my Intarwebzs have been total pomegranate these past few weeks so i doubt i get any real progress.
kinda sad how it doesnt even matter that i was trying to get a diamond border for 3s and 5s when my soloq one will be enough for both of them.. Hopefully theres better prizes for team ranked
At least you're not in the "shouldn't even be there" section
Try harder. If not this season, wait for it to end and let it reset your w/l if your mmr is pineappleed up, and just practice from here
If you're not gold and you want it, then practice up, I couldn't do pomegranate in ranked where I was, so I practiced in normals and waited for s3 to reset my elo, then I got gold in a week.
Wanna know my rank last season?
Silver 1 or 1466 elo
You can't give me answers like "hur but you're diamond" when I was once a bronzie like you guys are/were at one point.(not talking to you really, I actually don't know you and don't think I've played with you)
Fenix I want to say don't do ranked because I feel like you live in the lolrage thread, but if you want to it shouldn't be that hard if you're a good player.
I got out of placements at silver 1, so make sure you tryhard in those match ups.
Oh good, a free champion.
Can you guys carry me to gold? I want that skin. It looks soo cool.
Joking aside, the least I can do is finish provisionals and land in bronze before the end of season 3 just to say I was ranked in season 3. lol
Here's a tip: Either make a lot of 3v3 teams and hope that you can get to Gold there or duo que with a friend and get to Gold.
3 v 3 teams are the best way to get to Gold. Grab other Southperryans that are extremely highly ranked to balance your normal elo, and hope for the best in provisionals.
Time to become a silver elo scrub.
WHAT.
F> someone to duo with me
I need to get out of bronze ASAP
That skin ;-;
COOL. LET'S GO TO 3v3 RANKED! Who wants to join me!? I'd do anything for that Elise skin.
I'd join, but I hate 3's.
I might join anyway just to try something new, but the solo lane is mine. >:c
Edit: I heard there is only 5 provisional games for 3v3? Is that true? Gold should be easy as fudge for you guys.
Feel free to add me to your 3v3's
J> A group for 3v3's I think it would be fun + free skin. Add me on league : MysteriousV. Maybe @RandomZodiac and @Corn :f3:
How many people can be in a 3v3 ranked? If I can, may i join the team?
Olsi I advise against joining that team o 3o
3 months to get gold from Bronze 4?
http://24.media.tumblr.com/6ab27f4cd...ugd1o1_400.jpg
or J> team :f2:
I'm interested. My summoner name is ShiKage08. However, I don't know if I'll be any good in comparison to you guys. I've never truly delved into ranked, aside from team ranked, which was a disaster. I really do want that Elise skin, though. She's one of my favorite champions to play.
Dude, only Latios can carry you.
I'm down for 3 v 3s, I guess, but I'm not the strongest at solo lanes (although I guess I can just lolWarwick my way through). I suppose someone can make a team though and just add everyone (I think you have to play 2 matches though to be considered part of the team).
...am I going to be the person that makes that team?
What would be our team name and tag?
?
I can't think of any other related tags that aren't taken. Unless you guys want the team name to have nothing to do with Southperry, that is.
I would love to get Gold for that skin, but I know that won't happen so I'll just aim for bronze just to get the summoner icon. :excellent:
So apparently people are selling spots of their diamond team for money; if this keeps up, Riot is definitely going to change something.
Too bad im awful, and always heed @Dredragon;'s advice yo.
2 months to tilt to gold 5 then get to plat, shouldnt be too bad
I'd love to get to Gold for the skin, but I doubt I'm better than Cardboard 7 ._.
Yeah, honestly this makes me really mad..
Sorry if i may sound selfish or whatever, but i really dont think people deserves end of season rewards for ranked teams.
I hope they change this soon, I've been working and playing my best to get to diamond and also trying to get my team to diamond. I wanted all 3 diamond loading screen and the special trophy icon, but then they pull out some crap like this? Seriously Riot... having a ranked 3/5s diamond team with your friends is nothing compared to going through the pains of soloq to diamond
I see you guys playing and with the couple times I see vega playing, I honestly think that team won't be going far to be blunt ~_~
With corn and olsi it alone, it won't be getting to gold in a rush, but it could get there I guess.
Ranked 3's isn't an insta free elise skin guys, you still have to win it, and if none of you can consistently carry in soloq (or normals =-=) then idk mang.
Shikage, vega you should either practice up and try it later or find someone to carry you, cause you're really just too new tbh
I mean the skin does look pretty nice, but determination + omgiwantdisskin isn't gonna change that :<
Lol, I bet gold this season is going to end out at something like 25% of players
Still sad that it's elise, cause the current skin is already sexy and I got its bundle so it feels like this season's award isn't even worth =_=
Since I'm pretty new to this and I don't even know what the rewards mean, I think I'll stay out of this (I do pretty bad at AI's still, more than yesterday)
You're that new person who asked for some help starting out right? You have to be level 30 w/ 16 champs iirc, so it's not like you can do ranked in the first place. :P
getting to gold shouldn't be hard if you just focus on objectives, if your opponent just died, take tower. If you see 2 top take drag. If you are low after a kill, but you know the locations of the jungler/laners. Don't go back, take the tower. You can find a lot of tips watching diamond/challenger streams too. You should also just practice a few champs that you really like too in normals. Tips are nice, but nothing beats experience.
the meta in 3s is different, and like what the sharkboy said, seeing some games most people post here.... i don't really believe that you guys can carry 3s either =/
Death blossom elise is still one of my favorite skins and i really think that this victorious elise skin isnt gonna be that great of quality like the victorious jarvan and janna skins =/
PS: It took my team 5 wins in a row for 3 diamond 1 players to get ranked as Gold 1, but then we were facing against challenger 3s team after getting ranked. so i'm thinking that 3 bronze and silver players will end up at like bronze1-3 even if you guys win all 5 games.
ranked is weird
If @Purplefire44 did it last year with Warwick, I think I have a pretty good chance of carrying. I dunno we'll see how it goes.
Hey guys. I don't usually post on SP (too lazy to login to account). I'd be interested in joining/helping a team get to gold. I main support/jungle in ranked (Silver 3) (just over 700 normal wins). I am in no way, shape, or form the best support/jungle on this earth, but i'm pretty good at hecarim, amumu, thresh, and blitz. I also am somewhat good at shaco :O
twisted treeline is all about map awareness and lane mechanics, if you can do well in lane in normals/ranked, you can probably do it in tt, but we all seen your tf lol, I'm bad at laning too, which is why I rather play jungle/support in ranked because helping lanes is a lot less trouble than outplaying your opponent through the whole lane phase. I still practice laning in normals though.
Believe it or not my map awareness skyrockets in Twisted Treeline, because the map is so small that you don't have to worry about getting outplayed as much as the other lane ganking you. Of course my lane mechanics can be better but I should be able to patch it with "easy" champions (aka Warwick) and my good ol' Cho'Gath, who are a lot better in TT than SR.

Summary: You now need to win 5 games and participate in at least 30% of the team matches to bathe in the rewards.
When ww wasn't outclassed by all these champs who have halflane gapclosers like zac on 15sec cds, and the old old jungle had damage on the big minion, ww was so gud
hyena ww I miss u :c
I think ww was the first champ I ever got too now that I think about it :CCC
lol.... thinking that ww is a good champion...
I'll let you guys know a huge secret on the most op champion in 3s.
if you're blue side, you must first pick. if you're pink, then it's a must ban.
wukong will carry you bads from being bad
Did you read what I said?
50% pick/ban rate at season one championships, @Purplefire44; and I have been playing this game for years.
Um so...?
Sorry this is season 3, keep up please.
err well ray was just saying ppfire was sick with ww because he played ww a lot, and he was "teh junglar" in s1 which is true
I remember when you could use ww, now you try that and people will be like y not just jungle fiora isntead
And it's true, wukong is strongggg but shh keep it a secret
Yeah i do know that WW was a very popular jungler back then, but saying that you should use him now AND in ranked 3s is just ridiculous =/
Saying that just because hes good 2 years ago is just pretty silly seeing how the game changes like every month.
Renekton is also a super op pick in ranked 3s ;)
Yea but no1 was saying to use him now
I'm guessing corn meant if ppfire did it with someone as lame as ww then I can just carry in general
that is how I saw it anyway.
I srsly wish they would just add an active to his e or add a slow on something. ; - ;
http://puu.sh/4e9Qc.png
hmmmmmmmmm
I'm pretty sure saying that you shouldn't pick a certain champion at all is what's ridiculous. Especially due to the fact that ranked games shouldn't change your pick decisions.
Although I do agree that using season 1 information in a season 3 setting is rather silly, even if that's not what he intended. :P
sorry you're right, i've been skimming through this thread and misread a couple things and after reading through everything again on my computer and not my phone, things makes sense ;)
thought people were saying that WW is some kind of sleeper op champion which is honestly pretty hilarious to me.
Just trying to tell people, why pick bad champions when there are better ones? O_o
Exploit the opponent's lack of knowledge on uncommon champions. That tends to lead to victory.
Yup, focus Poppy when her ultimate is activated because she's in the middle of the team wrecking the squishies.
Turret dive a Karma that has very little health, no way she'll live.
Etc.
Who decides what champion is better than the others?
Up until rather recently, the consensus was that corki was a rather poor champion. And now he's becoming prevalent as an AP mid.
If no one picked corki because some people thought he was "bad," how would they have found his strength as a mid laner?
Hell, the koreans came into the pro scene by employing unconventional strategies and you can see how well they've thrived.. Pro players are notorious for setting examples of how "bad" champions can be extremely useful/powerful.
There's no room for esports to grow if everyone does the same things. Any sport, really. Pro sports players don't have off seasons simply because they're 'tired;' they use them to refine strategies and try new things.
You yourself just said that the scene is constantly changing. Why do you think that is?
And, as a wise man once said:
Spoiler
pro players can afford to try out new strategies and such with lower tier champions but bronze players should stick with the higher tier champions. I mean if you can't play the good champions well, why even bother trying the others?
im just trying to give some good advice to people here who constantly complain about how they cant get out of their tier and feel like they should be higher than they are.
In my experience I'd say it's much the opposite. At least in League, anyway. I probably wouldn't say the same about SC2, but then again I haven't payed much attention to it recently so I'd probably be wrong.
Look at Cloud9 and many the korean teams. They went from being unknowns and in financial distress (at least in Cloud9's case) to being some of the strongest teams in the world by employing "lower tier" champions and tactics. They did what other pro teams weren't doing and it's been done quite well.
This isn't Super Smash Bros where every champion falls under a strict tier. Every champion is good in different situations.
People were terrified of straying from the solo top/mid, jungle, and duo bot meta for the LONGEST time. And now you rarely see a professional match that doesn't.
And if you're a lower elo player trying to rise the ladder, what good will it do you to try and be something you're not? How far will that get you? The second I stopped trying to be a "good" player is when I found myself doing the best. In LoL, sticking to what you know and what you're good at goes much farther than trying to pretend you're knowledgeable about how powerful champions are compared to others.
Edit: Plus, I don't see how pro players can afford to try new things and other players can't. I'd think it would be the other way around. Pro players make a living off of doing well, other players have as much freedom as they want to try new things. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." If it's been rather broken for them in the past, why not try new things?
Um what? C9 have been playing all the strong champs every single game O_o don't know what LCS you've been watching. Don't really get on what youre saying with how people scared of straying away from meta, but pros do all the time. I see a jungler, 2 solo laners, and a adc/support lane every game.
And why do you constantly bring up competitive games when we're talking about soloq. people complaining how theyre still losing games in bronze and i see them playing champs such as poppy and karma. I really don't see what point you're trying to get across
In bronze I'd suggest not dropping a comfort champion for the FotM, but this isn't an absolute. I've played Vlad since 2011 and I usually do well with him because I'm familiar with him. On the other hand, I've played Ashe since 2010 and I'm still pimentos at Ashe because I can't aim arrows.
Lane swaps were a pretty substantial change in the meta.
Hell, even playing someone who doesn't scale off of AP in mid lane was a pretty substantial change.
And because League is, in its nature, a competitive game? Solo queue is how a lot of competitive teams have come about...
It's really only a logical step from a -> b.
There are just as many people who are playing nothing but poppy and karma and are high on the ladder. You've completely missed my point so I'll reiterate:
Champions have nothing to do with how prosperous someone is in solo queue or ranked teams. I know people who have carried themselves to diamond by playing nothing but heimerdinger.
Giving someone the advice to stop playing a champion because in your opinion said champion is bad might only serve to perpetuate their stay in elo hell.
^^
I've played Ashe for the longest time and I've gone up rather substantially because I'm familiar with her, while many players have attempted to tell me that she is a "bad and unused adc"
Familiarity >>>>>>> all
Why do you think pro players tend to play the same champions?
I give up trying to explain my point to you guys, just saying that I got to diamond 1 very easily in around 120 games by playing OP champions. Don't make your games harder than its suppose to be lol.
Edit: Didn't know giving tips in a thread about how to get better and getting the high tier rewards would get downvoted O_o. Ask yourself why youre bad please, then stay bad.
Well this is in the same area as the "use comfort champs in low elo" as it really only applies in low elo.
Plus if karma eats an ignite then she gets to go back and cry in her corner.
If you're reaaaallly good with poppy, she's your main and you have your name changed to something like LayYourWeaponsDown, a decent player up here using an annoying ranged champion like Jayce/Kennen will probably make you suffer for bringing a melee who also happens to be named poppy at the same time to the top lane.
I think around gold I dropped champs like ziggs for ones like zyra/oriannafor fpin general, cause they can pretty much do his job and make it easier for the team overall to win.
And on ops... well I mean if you pick someone like zac, even if you're paper bag 9 tier if you hit e and press r, you've done your job
Put me in the team when I hit 30 pls!
Can someone invite me to that 3v3 team?
