The Chinchillin' Chair

This epic and limited time treasure is only available via award code for participation in our event quiz, containing a mixture of in game and Southperry related factoids and trivia. We have an initial offering of 5,000 codes plus more available if necessary. In the event we run out before restocking winners will still receive their prizes in the order they won upon restocking.

The quiz will be available from the start of January 18th till the end February 15th, central time as determined by the Southperry server, at this address - http://www.southperry.net/spquiz.php

Registration is not required to participate. Because this is a GMS event it is restricted to the current GMS service area, and because it is a Southperry event the only exception to that is Southperrians who had registered prior to 2013.

Upon visiting the page during its open period participants will be presented with either their list of multiple choice questions for the day, or prompted for an email address to save points on if they're not a registered member and the questions upon providing said email address.

Participation is limited to once per day. If you do not answer and come back on the same day you will have the same questions. Answer order will change each time the page reloads. Answers can not be changed once submitted. Subsequent entries on multiple accounts or multiple email addresses will be discarded and those mults banned from additional participation.

Initially there will be 5 questions a day with a 35 correct answers to win. This ratio is subject to change later in the event. A reward token will be PMd if registered, or emailed if not and you will no longer be eligible to continue playing. Tokens should not be traded, transferred, sold or otherwise shared. Any threads related to such will be puréed. Award Tokens expire March 31st, 2013. To redeem your token make sure you have an empty slot in your Set Up tab, enter the Cash Shop, click the Coupon button and paste in your code to claim your chair. The chair is untradeable even across your own account, so be sure to claim it on the character you want to own it forever.

Questions can be answered any time during the contest period, they do not have to be on consecutive uninterrupted days. A non-answer is the same as a wrong answer, but the only penalty for wrong answers is a delay in how soon you can reach the 35 point threshold.

Each participant's questions are randomly selected for the day so everyone will be answering a different set of questions at different times. Threads created here to share questions/answers will be deleted because the questions are already easy enough to find the answers to on the site and attempts at creating a centralized cheat sheet ruin the point of spending a little effort to earn the prize.

The Event Privacy Policy and basic requirements are available from the event page, as is the current server time.

Note that an issue was found in two categories of questions where mults with the same name but different answers had not been properly cleaned out. Those questions have been disabled and only accounted for < 1% of available questions. Anyone who was answered or assigned them before they were disabled has been automatically credited as a success so you may have seen your score go up slightly. If you still have one of them assigned it will count as correct regardless of answer when you submit.

About 400 more questions involving objects with multiple versions were cleaned up, credited and removed from future selection. This should all of them now.

All questions give 1 point.
You are given a list of questions each day, not just one.
If you answer everything right, you will get your chair in a few days. If you make mistakes, it will take longer.

Guy's, I havent played maplestory in like 2 years, and during testing I got majority of them without even researching. These aren't like "How much hp does zakum have left if you apply DB's fastest attacking skill, only stunned twice, during defence up?"

Though they also aren't "What does LHC stand for", so you do have to think for a few of them.

It suddenly occurs to me I specifically included the logic to allow multiple true answers (Large Hadron Collider and Lion Heart Castle could both have been correct) and then never used it. Bother. Well, at least everyone now knows There Can Be Only One. :f3:

Just reinstalled Maple so I can join in on the fun new chair. I wonder how badly my character compares to the current average Mapler now.

Being unable to login should not effect your ability to win a code. I'm not aware of any urgent time limit on redeeming the codes, though that's a good question for @Girasol;.
I would not recommend having a friend log on for you, since that's both against the TOS and a terrible security risk in general.

From previous feedback having to provide an account to bind the tokens to and wait for them to be assigned on a per account basis (or be delivered in game) was a more horrible idea for most people.

Makes me want to play Maplestory again.

2 people I'm talking to on Skype didn't even bother reading any of the smegas @KhainiWest put out and they kept asking me how to get said chair and whatnot. Real irritating.

After several people seemed unable to grasp what "the event starts on the 18th" means, I decided I'm not displaying the chair again until the event starts.

If you're going to do that, I think it's best to promote a day before the event starts.

That's not what's happening to me. Everyone who has asked for info seems exited and understanding.
Some of them even called their guildies to show them the chair :P

On the day it starts.
No need to do it early, people can still get a chair easily even if they start a week or two late.
And people can't read, no matter how much you smega "it starts tomorrow" they will go on the site and come back with "it won't let me do the event!"

Might try changing that text to just a big red bold DON'T REGISTER and then the rest of it in normal text. As it is it's too long and people skip it.

Either that or they read it and don't believe it, in which case there's nothing we can do.

It's unfortunate that it's only one character per person, but there it is.

Be careful about advertising links like that.

I was warned by a dear friend that their friend got 30 day banned for putting a link in their mushroom shop title recently. I know that sounds like hearsay but better safe than sorry! (or maybe put something about the chair + SP instead of just SP alone since the event itself is official with Nexon).
