I'm excited for the PQ updates because i love doing PQ and i spend half of my time on maple doing PQ with many of my friends. - Sonia Z.

More amped for NLC. This needed a revamp badly, and with this update, i hoope to see the Mechanic class rise to its former glory. UP THE IRONS!! - Ian F.

The event that made it impossible to train for 3 months, what fun. I'm hoping the wording is not significant and we get Giant Slugs instead.

REALLY hope it isn't.

It's not visitor... Or at least not a copy-pasta of it... Here's why:
1. From across the stars is NOT from the future.
2. They are coming to NEW LEAF CITY. Not to the whole world. It means Masteria is getting updated.
3. VPQ just wouldn't work the way it is now, because of big bang and all that. It needs at least some updates.
4. From a storyline point of view, we can't have the visitor event. It just wouldn't work, seeing as our characters already found out the truth about the "aliens".
5. The alien guy in NLC hints at an alien civilisation.
6. The famous "mysterious mob", which looks like it could be an alien.

From using the word "visitor", it seems like Nexon want to make us believe VPQ is coming back, but they're going to release an updated version of it, or a completely different thing.

Or maybe I'm just daydreaming and they're going to copypasta the old visitor event...

@Raph589 never underestimate how little Nexon knows about their own game. How many of them do you think know that the VPQ wasn't aliens but time travelers? Hint: It's a lot less than 100%. These are the people who think garbage rewards are godly and have no concept of scale within their own economies.

Looking for subtle meanings is dangerous all around because you can never tell when Nexon is trying to be clever, and when they're putting their foot in their mouth trying to be clever.

And for that reason, it's always safer to assume the latter. I always wonder how people remain so optimistic, given Nexon's track record.

"Optimistic" in this case being what? Hoping for a return of VPQ (with or without the event, with or without updates to make it challenging again)? Hoping for something completely new (exciting as the old Masteria, or poorly-thought-out as Cake vs. Pie 1 and Capture the Flag)?

Personally I'm just waiting to see what they come up with, no expectations.

Exciting as the old Masteria. It ain't happening.

I'm still waiting for mansion update more than any think... I think the mansion has great potential

well actually all the non-kms have great potential... only just some places need some reorganization... bigbangize them and ta-da new training grounds :shine:

All the Masteria content has great potential. If NexonNA actually had a team of decent devs they could do so much with it. There's so much unfinished storylines around..

Haunted house part 3
Yeti Sphinx
Even Headless houseman and Bigfoot have their own Story which could be made into content.

I'm sure there's more.. However right now It's the most depressing place in global maple. Nothing has been updated for the best of 2 years.

Wow. This actually seems to be the long-awaited (over 3 years?) Masteria update..

There's one thing which I hope the most: that they made that content with decent developers, designers and storyline writers. I'm not expecting anything equal to Prose's masterpiece, but at least something close to that. Masteria has a great potential which shouldn't be wasted, and I hope they made the right choices with the development of this piece of content.

Anyone who's seen Nexon's track record first hand would know that this NLC update is just CWKPQ part 2 (which only opens access to all classes instead of current CWKPQ, which excludes half the characters) and VPQ copypasta, because Nexon is really good at copypasta.

You think more than 0% of the developers/newspaper writers believe that visitors, which happened in multiple servers, came from GMS' Masteria?

Glimmerman says they are slugs, and the famous mob was a slug.
Also nexon never said that they were bringing back visitor pq, they said they noticed a lot of people liked the alien themes and considered making more alien content. I think its the mysterious slug coming to life here. It is his time.
Edit: Most continents seem to have forgotten their own tour areas. At least GMS acknowledges Masteria from time to time.
