Birdie Wrote:yeah but how much use are you going to get out of rageblade walking into most fights with no stacks. Rageblade is super cost effective but i really dont like seeing it on characters who cant keep it stack outside of combat.

high attack speed plant 3 mushrooms and poison dart. 4 stacks at fight start and 4 autoattacks roll in fast.

 Updated Teemo hybrid build

hmm closer. give me a sec and ill post more.

@unleashing- forgot about dropping mushrooms somehow, so i guess stacks dropping isnt as big of an issue. rageblade on teemo does work i guess.

ok will, razor, frozen mallet and malady are your core items. Add in boots and these are the first 4 items you are going to be buying. The order doesn't really matter and should be dependent on how the game is going. Frozen mallet first if you are getting harassed/dying, razor or malady if you are winning/in control of your lane.

after you get those 4 items, unless you and your team are crushing and you have no chance of dying, get a banshees veil or other tanky item.(RoA is decent here)
if you are crushing, get a death cap or abyssal or whatever ap item you want.

im trying to find an item builder to make it easier to read and what not.

edit: if you take anything from my build, take this:

boots: merc or serker
slot 1: bloodrazor
slot 2: malady
slot 3: frozen mallet
slot 4: banshee veil
slot 5: whatever the hell you want.

Also for planting Mushrooms, is there any tips for effectively using it, besides planting in hidden (tall grass) areas and heavily traversed locations?

Original League of Legends (LoL) Thread - Birdie - 2011-02-22

early game-primary: use them like wards and prevent yourself from getting ganked
secondary: place them to slow and damage your enemy when they get aggressive and try to kill you, turns it around and you kill them

mid game- start putting them by buffs(red, blue, dragon and baron) and place them in the heavy traffic areas. shroom your lane the same as early if you are still farming it a lot.

late game- if you are winning, try to shroom the enemy's escape path to their base. if you are losing, shroom the entrances to your jungle so you know where the enemy is and to prevent your team from getting picked off as easily.

Eh I figured I'd make it easy and mark where I like to place them when I do AP Teemo. Which I should note is different than shroom placement on AD or AS Teemo. With them, you want them revealing the map, not getting blown up, so you're going to put them on corners and edges of things to get vision, not to have them explode mostly.

 Going Mid:

 Going Top:

 Going Bot:

 Mid game, fairly even:

 Late game, blue team winning:

 Late game, purple team winning:

Generally speaking, AP Teemo is all about using the Shrooms to keep your enemies on their toes. It's true they can buy an Oracle's to stop them, but that's what all that brush is for. Oracles only help if they aren't afraid to enter the brush after all. XP Your goal with your Shroom placement is to put them in places where they will be blown up frequently. Whether that means at a popular interesction, a buff, middle of a lane, etc. If things are going well for you, by late game you'll be above 500+ AP with ease, and killing all but the tanks easily. When you seem everyone on the other team rushing a Banshee's just to deal with you, you know you've got them scared. And being scared of Teemo is ideal because while they're busy scared of you, your team can make short work of them. I will say that AP Teemo is very much a late game champ though. His early to mid game is okay, and his mid game remains mostly average unless they've got a heavy amount of auto attackers like Yi or Ashe. Late game though, AP Teemo scares people pretty badly and can take on one to two people fairly easily with the right setup. He's still pretty squishy though, so no running into the middle of fights if at all possible, your goal is to pick out the squishies and end their existance post haste, whether directly or indirectly. *Fond rememberances of blowing up running away Ashe, Yi, etc.*

Additional suggestions:

(I forgot to paint a dot at north Lizard, oh well)

Considerations:
--Since Shrooms give you a small line of sight, sometimes it's better to use them for spying on people, such as when your team has a global ranged ultimate ala Enchanted Crystal Arrow or Grand Skyfall. This obviously doesn't work very well when people bother to buy Oracle's though.
--If you have spare mushrooms to lay down and you already shroomed up all the places you wanted to shroom, not much harm in laying them down in the lane. Just don't put them in the paths of the minions, unless you want to destroy minion waves.
--Why shroom up a single pathway when you can shroom up an intersection? This is useful if you're trying to track the movements of the enemy jungler. It's probably not a good idea to put the shroom smack in the middle though.

I'll take note of this. Thanks Kaj!

Also....for Teemo's passive "standing still and get stealthed" ability, what can it be used for? In one of the games I played, I saw my Teemo teammate standing still (stealthed) in the middle, and an enemy Sivir - with 20% HP left - close by farming minions. Then he ambushes and pretty much finishes her off. That was a bit entertaining, but is there other uses for that passive?

Oh yeah, I played one game as Irelia today on a smurf. Took me three tries to figure out how to fire Transcendent Blades. Should tell you how that game went for me.

Trickery in general, but Teemo also gets an AS buff for breaking stealth to attack something. Though be advised that if the enemy thinks you're there and has AoE, you may be screwed.

This is why you try out champions in a practice game first.

Press R once, bust out the blades. 1 second before you can fire your first blade.
Press R 4x to fling a blade wherever your cursor happens to be, much like Flash. 1 second CD between blades. If you wait too long, any unused blades will expire and be wasted.

Best use for his passive is waiting to gank someone. For example, if you see a Yi going by or blowing up a mushroom near top, and heading towards you. If you sit still you can probably make his gank attempt into another stack on your mejai's. Of course it's not usually that easy, but any time you're trying to team fight, baroning, etc. if you wait a few seconds for stealth, the bonus is quite useful.

Also, to expand on what Kaj was saying as far as Mushroom placement, there's a couple of options. If you want view of an interesection without putting it directly in the center, choose the edge that has the least chance of being run along. For example, the area of brush near bot tower on blue. It's a nice intersection, and almost everyone runs through the middle of it. The second most common way to run through is the right side. So using that knowledge, you put it on the left part, or the top part, with the left part being slightly less common than the top usually. That way you can still see someone in the brush, still use it to escape a gank attempt, but it remains longer to provide you vision. Another example is the brush near the middle towers on top and bottom lane. Putting a mushroom in there will usually remain undiscovered unless you're attacking said middle tower. So you can use it to get a little bit of vision on the lane without putting it out in the open for oracle's to see. Another example is one of the buffs, Rather than place it in the brush, sometimes it's better to place it on the opposite corner. Since many times people hug brush when doing them, this will still give you vision without it blowing up. Of course I prefer to blow them up usually, but there are times where you want to surprise them unexpectedly and just want vision. AP Teemo is really one of the best map controllers there is, with TF being a close second, and the two of them together shredding most enemy teams if they're good.

Don't like to doublepost, but as it's a different topic from my previous post, I'd rather do a new one.

Tried out Mordekaiser earlier against bots. He's hard to get used to compared to a lot of characters I've played. With a skilled player, I can easily see how he'd destroy people mid lane, but I'm not sure if he's for me. I think I might have done better with him going solo lane, and/or changing my build order around a bit. Dunno, I might try him in a real game to see how I do as him.

Then I decided to try Irelia . . . and wow does she rape bots. I had 36/4/1. I'm even more tempted to try her in a real game. I don't expect to do nearly as well, but sheesh, even half that many kills in a real game would generally mean we pubstomped the other team. Incidentally, almost all 4 of those deaths were avoidable, but I tower dove on accident twice and twice on purpose. Without my greediness I'm sure I'd have gone 0 deaths, or at worst, only 1 death. XP

In the odd chance I find the time to try Irelia this weekend, who wants to sum up things to know in one paragraph? No time for poring through guides and videos like I usually do.

what is with the general thinking that you are only allowed to buy skins if you are pro and never die.

Played a game as Morgana (i own sinful succulence, its cute and better than default) and i kinda fed a bit against a akali teemo lane because if i stepped out of turret id get ganked. We won the game regardless. At one point we did baron with 4/5 of their team down with just the teemo left, who tried to steal our baron and failed. I said over all 'pro steal' and he goes 'pro morg why do you have a skin when you suck'

I was like i bought it cos it was cute.. :f6:

Well I tried out Irelia in a real game. We won, albeit it was a bit hard won. I ended up at 9/10/3. Last death was completely unnecessary running into altar of their base while chasing a dying Lux. XP Irelia's pretty strong solo, but she definitely has an upper limit on how well she can control the lane. Without a good area attack, she gets pushed back to the turret easily. I say solo because the MF that was with me was terrible. Went 0/11/5, and almost half of those deaths were early on feeding their Jax and Eve. I learned a few things, got a triple kill in one team fight, and overall I think I did pretty good for my first time against real people. I could see her being a nice niche inbetween Yi and Nasus for when I want a melee character, but don't want to go quite so tanky or quite so glass cannon.

As for my build, I went with Doran's Shield, Boots, Sheen, Merc Treads, Wooden Mallet, Trinity Force, Spirit Visage, Double Vampiric Scepters, Stark's Frevor, was working on Bloodthirster after that. Had the game continued, I'd have either gotten more damage or more tankiness depending on what I needed. Randuin's, Madred's, or Sunfire Cape most likely replacing Doran's Shield.

Spec tanky laning phase. Be a squishy killer assassin mid-late game. Rush Triforce and probably Mercury Treads (she has no reliable escape). E first, then W and Q as you see fit. DO NOT SPAM Q TO FARM, ONLY TO PUSH OR HARASS/KILL! R works best when there's a LOT of things to attack in a line. Try out R in a practice game first to get used to how it works. Oh, and before you get ideas, Irelia's passive does not help detect people in the grass or anything.
