v.154 – Sword Art Online Update Notes - Justin - 2014-09-18

Granted, I'm not condoning abusing it, but there really isn't that much of a good means of punishing for this... You can't even prove that people leveled there at all, since I'm pretty dang sure they're just gonna look at total exp gained in a day and have some weird magical cutoff that ends up catching a crap ton of innocent people in that group. Their continued silence and refusal to even take the game down is just making matters far FAR worse by the hour. I'd consider it absolutely ridiculous if they punish people for this at this point in time.

People leveled to 200 within 14 hours as it is before this anyway, so what difference does it really make? It's just EXP, it doesn't really affect anything.

Justin Wrote:I'd consider it absolutely ridiculous if they punish people for this at this point in time.

Which is exactly why I'm expecting there to be some sort of stupid punishment.

What about those of us who stayed away (thank you quantum homework for taking up all my time) after hearing volunteers say "nexon advises against it"?
I'm expecting the true punishment to be against the people who don't take advantage of this, by there being no punishment.

v.154 – Sword Art Online Update Notes - Dragon - 2014-09-18

I just spent 20 hours leveling my BW from 1 to 70 and I haven't even touched that island (thankfully?). I honestly hope I didn't waste an entire day for nothing, haha. Frown

v.154 – Sword Art Online Update Notes - Justin - 2014-09-18

I don't know, I'm really hoping if they DO punish for it, that they have the proof to back it up. You can't just ban people based on exp gained in a day. People have gotten from 1 to 210 if not higher in a 24 hour sitting before. Also, for the quest completionists, this place pretty much forces you to grind it a bit, so most would probably go from at least 13 to 80 or so before the quests are complete.

And please, make the punishment reasonable. No one should be perma'd over this. It's just exp. This isn't gamebreaking, doesn't affect equips, nor the market in any way.

I've been sitting here channel hopping in GAZED on the M133 map and I'm seeing TONS of people coming and going. This has already gone far beyond the point of no return. Keep in mind GAZED is a pretty small server at this point in time, and seeing this many people gathered is pretty damn rare.

v.154 – Sword Art Online Update Notes - SaptaZapta - 2014-09-18

I agree that the damage to the game as a whole is negligible. At least until the botting scripts are written that would let hackers produce boss-farming mules in record time.

As for proof, I'm not sure what they log, but I believe they can tell how many times you started Mr.Lee's quest, and what you did in between (job advances).
Whether they will bother to check is anyone's guess, and of course they never actually show their proof to anyone.

v.154 – Sword Art Online Update Notes - hadriel - 2014-09-18

I can tell you they messed up when the purple nependeath is Snipe-able. That's 16 Snipes for 16M exp (hey I'm unfunded, and this ain't bossing).

On my BW, I was having trouble trying to find the hyenas (like, 80 short of the quest target), and for some dumb reason it kept throwing me the Root map. I was level 5X and I'd not done the 2nd job advancement, because at that time I seemed like I couldn't! And I was afraid I'd get permanently booted from the map if I DC because there was nothing saying yea or nay. There isn't enough information given to us. Not only that, but also you had to kill monsters enough times to spawn their bosses, and at that time it wasn't clear if there were bosses for EVERY normal mob in there (not for the strays, I gathered eventually).

So, about the EXP. the "normal" monsters here appear to be MPE-tier EXP, which is about... 5-10 times (?) more than the average monster of that level. For comparison, DIPQ mobs are somewhere there or below that, and the Bloodfangs give 10x that amount. The Mr Lee mobs give... about 5-10X more EXP than the average mob, and the boss-tier Mr Lee mobs (that's all your vosses, plus the wolves and the purple nependeath) give some 10X on top of that. Only the Hilla vs Magnus stage of DIPQ gives this much EXP, and you have to wait 10 min plus a chance of about 20% to enter that stage.

I expect a USC soon. Methinks it's just a wrong EXP tier. I also think Nexon shouldn't ban players -- they can't. I don't even know if it is intentional or not at first. This is a serious, irrecoverable mistake on their side. And no I doubt they'd RB.

Personally I didn't enter mr Lee thingy even once, while levling my BW.
I won't touch it at all until GM's give another statement, or patches it

If this is now, you were training in the wrong areas...

I am sure he was doing story quest stuff and not just grinding.

v.154 – Sword Art Online Update Notes - Reddish - 2014-09-18

It's also strange how they haven't even bothered blocking entry into the map while looking into Mr. Lee's airlines. After all, they've been able to block entry into maps without the need for a maintenance before.

v.154 – Sword Art Online Update Notes - ItzAlex - 2014-09-18

LOST CROSS OVER EVENT CONFIRMED.

That is exactly what I have been asking.

The longer they keep it open, the more people level there, and the less likely anyone who trains there will be punished in any way.
Which is sure to make all those who refrained from going there feel like suckers and vow to abuse the next exploit that comes up.
(Unless of course Nexon comes out with the statement "yeah, we intended this event this way, this is speed-level-up month, go for it, everyone!" instead of nerfing the exp there)

Same here honestly

This hasn't been confirmed as an exploit though, and they were aware of this yesterday. And made a statement about looking into it yesterday, if it was a major issue the game would have been down hours ago. Honestly wish this was stopped earlier, brings up so many issues really. Multiple level 200.... stuff like that, yeah... >-<

v.154 – Sword Art Online Update Notes - hadriel - 2014-09-18

While we're all on the Mr Lee thing, in case people didn't notice, Flight MR 133 really just refers to Flight "MR LEE". Just something funny that I thought was a little lost in the turmoil here.

It comes under the heading of "too good to be true".
It's not exploiting a glitch or oversight in the coding, like the Bounty Hunter thing, but it is taking advantage of faulty design.
Obviously nobody intended for this dungeon to replace all training areas of the game, even for a month. It was just meant to be a fun event, with nice exp rewards for tedious quests (low drop rates, random maps spending forever looking for a specific monster or NPC, etc).
They made a statement about looking into it, and also "We are discouraging the use of these maps in this way, as this is not how they were intended.
I'm guessing there was no-one around with the authority to forbid, permit, or even temporarily lock it. That is sad.

Edit: OK, this is weird. I did the Mr. Lee quest yesterday. Finished all the quests, got the buff, fixed all the vehicles, and left via submarine. (Racked up 3% on my level 210 Hero in the process)
When I logged in this morning, the "Moldoves Vacation" quest is back in my star notifier.
I will accept it and see whether I can really get another buff and mount. Shouldn't take very long. I stand on the portal and just keep pressing up until I get the map I'm looking for (e.g. hyenas).
If this event is a daily repeating one (Update Notes don't say so) then it's OP in yet another way. 40 Hunter's buffs (+100 att for 30 minutes, non-expiring)? Who came up with that idea?
Will report soon.

v.154 – Sword Art Online Update Notes - Invulgo - 2014-09-18

Yeah it pops up again, was reported a few hours ago. I do agree on the "too good to be true" part. The point was to do the quest and leave, not grind there for hours and make it from 10-180 in one go, obviously not intentional.

I think it's actually supposed to be repeatable daily, why release an event for a month and you can only do it once? And only get one mount? Doesn't really make any sense.

v.154 – Sword Art Online Update Notes - hadriel - 2014-09-18

You have GOT to be kidding me. It's a daily repeatable???

Hadriel

v.154 – Sword Art Online Update Notes - Thorr - 2014-09-18

I had a feeling it was a daily thing, but I can't imagine you get the mount more than once. Perhaps it's daily repeatable until you get all 3?

Another thought I had is that they could leave the area as-is and restrict it to 1 character per account. Grinding one character isn't a big deal as compared to grinding a whole account worth.

Well people report getting it again (as of 12:00), it doesn't really say in the update notes that you can do it once per day. Sure is confusing O.o

Did anybody that finished the quest NOT get it again after the timer reset?

v.154 – Sword Art Online Update Notes - Razmos - 2014-09-18

You can do it again!?
