My guess, as unwilling as I am to admit it, is that it's some kind of alternate reality thing, same deal as Future Erev. Killing the Black Mage in it (if you can even do so) will do nothing to affect the present or future. I doubt it's even as strong as the real Black Mage, or even if it was as strong as he was at that point in time, perhaps the real Black Mage is a heck of a lot stronger in the present.

That's exactly what I was thinking, with the three of the Legend update classes being either knocked out or disabled and the Black Mage sitting there like a cocky bastard.

"If Maplestory ever allows you to kill the actual Black Mage, I will eat my shirt."

The chances of Nexon allowing you to do this is non-existent. You'll kill a copy, a clone, someone dressed up like the black mage, a wannabe, etc.. But they won't let you kill him.
