8.9 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Japan + Tsunami and Alerts - Anonymous Moose - 2011-03-13 Stereo Wrote:Unlike you, I'm not going to assume that the only reason they destroyed it was to hide the fact it's showing a cooling trend. Maybe they found out their collection process was flawed, and they'd rather not let people misconstrue their numbers. There are lots of reasons to invalidate a data set, and why keep garbage? If you read the Emails, you'd see that they where afraid of their data getting out, and this data was the data all of their work was based on. And these are not out of context at all. If they are, then why dont you prove it rather than continue to just claim I'm wrong with no proof. At least I was able to prove evidence of BREAKING THE LAW. And since it was breaking the law, the data must have needed to be hidden. Why? Fraud. Why would you illegally destroy data if there was a minor yet explainable mistake? You are also completely ignoring the fact that in the Emails the scientists admit the earth is cooling. And scientific opinion is different than standard opinion, and is always backed by facts and reasoning. and if you read the open letter, you would see over 140 scientists openly challenging the notion that Global Warming is real. Why? Because scientists believe that Global Warming is unproven - there is no proof (aside from fabrications). And if you looked, many things these scientists published (like the fraudulent hockey stick graph) are based on these discussions. Its also important to note that Phil Jones claimed he would destroy the source data if there was a Freedom of Information Act request, and it was later reported that a Freedom of Information act request found that all source data was destroyed. There is a clear connection between them Illegally deleting data and those Emails. And before you can complain saying "then why isnt he in jail," He isnt because the statute of limitations passed before he could be charged. Anyway, please learn to prove your claims. So far your "out of context claim" (which you should try to explain) is just a blanket excuse to dismiss the facts. Now, regarding the Earthquake and Tsunamis: California is monitering the issue because they believe there is the possibility that fallout reaching the states. http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2011/03/12/california-closely-monitoring-japan-nuclear-leak/ BBC claims a second nuclear failure could occur http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-pacific-12724953 A Volcano is showing activity: http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/world/la-fgw-japan-quake-volcano-20110314,0,2486939.story?track=rss There is fear of a massive aftershock http://www.smh.com.au/environment/monster-aftershock-could-strike-within-days-20110313-1bt2p.html 8.9 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Japan + Tsunami and Alerts - Nikkey - 2011-03-13

Get back on topic. If you want to discuss the correlation/causation of earthquake/global warming, you are free to do so in the Rubik's Cube, but this is about the earthquake/tsunami and the horrible events happening in Japan at the moment. 8.9 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Japan + Tsunami and Alerts - Anonymous Moose - 2011-03-13 Devil's Sunrise Wrote: Interesting comic. Aside from that, I want to ask you if you've heard any more information on nuclear meltdowns. Have you heard any more statements from the government? I ask, mostly because a Meltdown turns this local disaster into a global one. 8.9 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Japan + Tsunami and Alerts - Loose - 2011-03-13 Well, this is interesting. It must be nice to live in such a prepared country. 8.9 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Japan + Tsunami and Alerts - Nikkey - 2011-03-13 Anonymous Moose Wrote:Aside from that, I want to ask you if you've heard any more information on nuclear meltdowns. Have you heard any more statements from the government? Not really, so far I've heard many different things. People expect that the first one has had a meltdown, but they cannot confirm it as of right now (I think it's because it is dangerous - but not sure). Nevertheless, this is, as of right now, just an accident with local consequences (Level 4 on the International Nuclear Event Scale). What I recommend people to read as of right now is the following: https://morgsatlarge.wordpress.com/2011/03/13/why-i-am-not-worried-about-japans-nuclear-reactors/ 8.9 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Japan + Tsunami and Alerts - Holypie - 2011-03-13 Yeah, that article? post? was pretty fun to read and a good insight into the ridiculousness of how amazing Japan is at averting massive catastrophes. 8.9 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Japan + Tsunami and Alerts - Kalovale - 2011-03-13 Loose Wrote:Well, this is interesting. Pretty much answered my question about why Japanese insisted on living in that hellhole of a geographical area. 8.9 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Japan + Tsunami and Alerts - Anonymous Moose - 2011-03-13 Devil's Sunrise Wrote:Not really, so far I've heard many different things. And to be honest, I think the government might be trying to tone down any panic that might be caused from a meltdown (governments like our's do this all the time, like how the EPA lied about the toxicity of New York's air after 9/11). That and, regardless the radiation from the explosions cant be a good thing, especially if fallout is blown into the upper atmosphere. Although, for people in the US, the most I'd suggest is obtaining potassium iodide or iodate. No reason to panic. Just basic precautions. 8.9 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Japan + Tsunami and Alerts - Jon - 2011-03-13 :S http://video.l3.fbcdn.net/cfs-l3-snc6/81489/34/1605260179420_2624.mp4?oh=ac31b4d8738221641ba490396dc19636&oe=4D7F9F00&l3s=20110313100648&l3e=20110315101648&lh=0a6cfa5eeaecd6dc12abf 8.9 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Japan + Tsunami and Alerts - Erich - 2011-03-13 http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/world/la-fgw-japan-quake-volcano-20110314,0,2486939.story?track=rss ,_, 8.9 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Japan + Tsunami and Alerts - Anonymous Moose - 2011-03-13 Erich Wrote:http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/world/la-fgw-japan-quake-volcano-20110314,0,2486939.story?track=rss Posted already (but it probably got mixed in too much with the other mini debate), but I think this is what is going to happen when you live on the ring of fire - lots of tectonic activity. 8.9 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Japan + Tsunami and Alerts - C0SA - 2011-03-14 Seems that they weren't that prepared, because the nuclear plants are in severe danger... 8.9 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Japan + Tsunami and Alerts - sicnarf - 2011-03-14 C0SA Wrote:Seems that they weren't that prepared, because the nuclear plants are in severe danger... Its hard to say. Many sources are saying there was a meltdown, but the japanese government is denying that. Edit: I should add that either way there is a severe danger, especially with the cooling systems failing and the fuel rods of many reactors being exposed. edit: 8.9 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Japan + Tsunami and Alerts - Stereo - 2011-03-14 There's prepared, and there's crazy prepared (which the Japanese are), and then there's being ready for an earthquake 4 times stronger than anything else in the past century, the strongest earthquake ever to hit Japan on record... You just can't expect everything to work perfectly in that kind of conditions. Sometimes things go wrong in so many ways that there's just no way to prepare for them. 8.9 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Japan + Tsunami and Alerts - -Ghost- - 2011-03-14 Don't know if it's been posted already, but there's a live stream here that I'm watching: http://www.ustream.tv/channel/nhk-gtv2 8.9 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Japan + Tsunami and Alerts - Satellite - 2011-03-14 Loose Wrote:Well, this is interesting.Or in a country without any earthquakes (rare biggest ones are hardly even noticed), tsunamis, volcanic activity or hurricanes.
