Worthyness Wrote:how's the new maple leaf high thing supposed to work? The NPC says it's closed still, but the event starts today o_o

They found a critical error with it and had to delay its release. It's being fixed tomorrow.

v.152 - Mark of Honor: Hieizan Temple Update Notes - Chilly - 2014-08-14

Am I to believe that people actually enjoy the grindfest that is Kritias?

Maybe it's just me since I hate training too, but everything in Kritias feels like such a time hole. I know, I know, "everything in Maple is a time hole, durr." But that isn't what I mean, I can't quite convey it, but it's just a feeling. Bossing doesn't feel like a time hole, most questing doesn't either.

But Kritias?

Kill 1200+ monsters for 1/400th of Tyrant Gloves. Spend 15 or so minutes killing every two hours, also for 1/400th. Just blah. And no, I don't attend all of them and it's still blah.

On that note, does anyone know the minimum amount of contribution necessary to get the Anti-magic Stone. If I can kill for five minutes and AFK the rest I'd rather just do that. Call me lazy, spoon-fed and whatever else you want to vent, I felt the need to vent after Kritias, I am sure you do too. Lay it on thick.

As long as you contributed something, be it 1 point or 999999 points, you should get the stone provided the invasion is successful. In terms of rewards your actual contribution only decides how much anti magic points you get. Anti magic points are important too of course, so I'm not sure if you'd really want to just grab the stones, assuming you shoot for max rewards you'll only get 1 stone to 1000 anti magic, the gold coins require 1200, so I wouldn't recommend just getting minimal contribution and then AFKing unless you have a ton of anti magic already.

For max rewards :

Successful invasion :

At least 1 contribution for 1 stone, and some anti magic points depending on contribution value. Max magic points they will give you is 1000, which requires 3,000,000 contribution or above.

If you dealt the final blow you get 4 stones instead of 1.

Failed Invasion :

Anti magic points based on contribution. At least 5,000,000 contribution for the maximum point reward of 1000, no stones.

At least this is how it is in MapleSEA, but there's no reason GMS would have it differently I think. Poast

If you're gonna try AFKing anyway you can actually log off and do something else like train another character, or maybe just use the portal at the Anheim Academy and hop somewhere else with your main; your contribution will not disappear and you can claim your stone the next time you log in or come back to Kritias, just remember to grab it before the next invasion or your rewards will be overwritten!

MLH is kind of cumbersome with all of the breakable boxes. Takes way more time compared to regular RLH (and the stupid vaccine/gymnasium stages still exist Tongue).

I also hate how the NPCs are spread out across the rooms, makes turning in quests/accepting quests a hassle.

'We revamped Red Leaf High so that it's designed to waste more time than before.'

Good

On an upside, there isn't a steep cost of mesos for the totems anymore. I much prefer the new system.

I still hate how painful DCs are for RLH. It just takes a random bloody idiot to wreck havoc to the channel and boom, lots of candies and EXP gone.

Bloody hell.

Agreed on both points.

Both of them also introduce an extra level of luck into collecting the rewards. To get a quest reward, you must first find the NPC that gives it, then find the room it applies to, and then find the NPC again to turn it in. Takes at least two runs, likely a lot more.

Searching for reactors to break for the recyclables takes way too long, and then you have to be lucky enough to find the correct recycling bin in the remaining rooms. Holding the trash 'til tomorrow is impossible since you lose it if you relog. (And idk about you, but Maple is no longer able to run for more than a few hours on my computer without corrupting memory and crashing).

And the recyclables and lost classmates take up too many setup slots.

Looks like the best I can get without spending NX is a pocket item. That's ok I guess. It'll add about 1% to my range. I was hoping to replace at least one of my obnoxious Sengoku totems, but that would take a LOT of luck, especially since I foolishly got the first day key too early and it expired during the mini-patch.
(Also, I wish the tooltip for totems would show damage difference from your current gear, like every other equip does).

Set your graphics to low. The reactors don't get blurred up like the rest of the background, so they're really easy to spot.

v.152 - Mark of Honor: Hieizan Temple Update Notes - Justin - 2014-08-15

Is there even any point in recycling things? The patch notes don't even mention them and there are no quests that I can find that involve them. o.o

Patch Notes Wrote:Mr. Schrodinger's Special Assignments - Recycle

- Break open desks and other furniture placed in various places of the classroom and find the recyclables.
- Place 50 of them in the correct recycling container and return to Schrodinger to receive 50 Model Student Candies.

Talk to Schrodinger in the school entry map about it.

there is some "secret" reward for doing the 'recycle' and 'return friends'
any info?

The post regarding half of that info is literally right above yours... but anyway, 50 recycled items = 50 candies. Every 3 friends you turn in = 1 candy.

Okay, decided to play some Maple in order to get that event Hieizan medal so I can get rid of that ridiculously obnoxious Tot one (on my alt chars).

So how the pineapple does a mage deal with mobs doing over 3k damage while having a little over 5k hp and NO MAGIC GUARD? Do I have to spam pots to advance and pray that I'll be able to survive Princess No's attacks at the end of the Temple?

One bloody DC is all it takes for me to lose the lonely friends that I've saved to complete that RLH miniquest. TWO MINUTES BEFORE MIDNIGHT!

Why do they have to make it disappear on DC? It makes no bloody sense. /RAGE

Same with the recyclables. -sigh-

Who designed this stupid side-quest anyway?

Someone who wanted to encourage people to do more than one run a day... Probably same one who scattered the NPCs in random rooms.
