Viaje Wrote:EDIT: Actually, the only reason I can see this as having a real (i.e. economical) affect is because there are a bunch of level-up events going on right now. Otherwise, yeah, I don't think this is such a big deal.

Even then, I don't think any of the items obtained from said events are actually tradeable. I could be wrong though.

I'm almost positive you're right on that.

I was just making room for arguments such as:
"If you can get infinite Special Potential scrolls, there's no reason to buy any of the other ones/Protection Scrolls/etc."
"No one will buy my Miraculous/Chaos Scrolls because they can get them for free so easily."

Again, basically insignificant, but worth noting.

I know that killing slime part, but the slime killing is way faster than slime drop looting. Anyway it's such a small deal that nobody abuses it lol...

It's not a big deal because there's no real way to abuse it.

First of all, the quest in question only gives 99,190 exp, which is half the amount you reported.
Since you have to kill 150 slimes, that's 661 extra experience per kill. Considering the fact that the map layout and spawn are pomegranate, you'd be better of grinding at pirates.

Of course, the "bonus exp" is cut off by the fact that, as you said, you can kill the required number of mobs way before you get the required number of drops.
That means either spending even more time killing to gather drops or magically finding a supplier who thought they could make a real business out of grinding those shitty mobs in hopes of selling their drops to people who have fooled themselves into believing they're netting amazing experience.

The dustbin is where the real abuse can come from.

You also get 2 Incredible Chaos Scrolls at like 80 or 90. I dunno how rare those are in GMS, but in other MS versions they're basically non existent, and anyone who happens to get one sells them for a fortune and a half.

You guys only proved my point with your responses. "It doesn't really effect us, so cheating doesn't really matter." That's really the worst possible mindset, and I've seen it in GMS players for a long time now. Believe me or not, agree with me or not, I don't care. All I know is that long before I started posting here, I lurked here a lot, and I saw a lot of that same mindset from all kinds of players.

I have a Miraculous... is the same as Incredible???

I probably just mixed up the name. Let me log in and ch---oh wait.

They're probably untradeable, but they're still a quick ticket to broken gear.

Miraculous Chaos is tradable, Incredible chaos is not.

The 2 scrolls you get from the cheering event are incredible chaos scrolls (untradable), although the website does say you get miraculous chaos.

They both have the same +/-10 stat effect.

Miraculous is tradeable, incredible is not, but their effect should be the same

Care to tell me how Person X leveling affects me in any way?

I'm gonna stop you right there.

My response was "It doesn't affect ANYONE".
So, no, I didn't prove your point.

Having a high level character doesn't innately provide any real benefit whatsoever.
To be remotely useful, you have to fund that character, a feat most players accomplish as a side-effect of training.

Care to explain what any of this muck means?
Sounds like you spent sixty words saying, "The worst kind of mindset is to not care if things don't affect you and some people in GMS have this mindset," while meanwhile implying that some people may not believe that there are people like that. STRAWMEN AHOY!

Kinda confused how you think that selfish apathy is worst than outright maliciousness though.

Dark Link Wrote:Care to tell me how Person X leveling affects me in any way?
He knows it doesn't affect you, but he's arguing that you're a horrible person because he believes the only reason you don't care is because it doesn't affect you.

So this is their fix:
If you try to complete the quest with your Use inventory full, it will tell you to check whether you have space, AND take away the setup items. So you have to restart the half-hour wait.

Protip: Just because someone is a member of Southperry doesn't make them your moral equal.

Really, though, it should be relatively clear why people have abused this glitch.
1) Little fear of ramification, which is the entire reason most people follow rules.
2) A feeling that the glitch doesn't negatively affect the status of the game (which it actually doesn't).

I somehow doubt the buff is useful enough to be a true loss.

So, fear of punishment is the only reason to do the right thing?
Maybe I've been listening to too many Christopher Hitchens debates...whatever. It's still disappointing.

Flonne Wrote:So, fear of punishment is the only reason to do the right thing?

Your question assumes that there is a universal "right thing" and an absolute set of morals from which everyone should naturally draw.
That would naturally lead to the question of, "how have do you determine what the 'right thing' is?"

But, no, fear of punishment isn't nor should be the only reason someone should follow rules, but, for plenty of people, it is the primary reason, subconsciously or otherwise.
Where there is order, there is personal safety.

On a side note, I have no idea who Christopher Hitchens is, so the allusion went over my head.

PSA: Egg Coloring Glitch - Flonne - 2012-03-28

There may be discrepancies between what people see as right and wrong, sure, but between putting in effort and building your character yourself and putting in no effort and making a level 200 when it takes some years to do so, I can't really find anything going for the latter other than "I have better things to do with my time than play video games", in which case, why are you playing video games?
Viaje Wrote:On a side note, I have no idea who Christopher Hitchens is, so the allusion went over my head.

Famous antitheist debater, his book's title, "God Is Not Great: How Religion Poisons Everything", pretty much sums up his world view.

Buff is a tradeable Use item that gives half an hour of 2x Drop.
It's the principle of the thing, though. You did the quest, you deserve the reward, whatever it is.

Anyway, if you complete the quest with space in Use, you get the buff and the exp (exp after buff), so at least that works ok.

They're rather abundant, on my server they're like, 60m each or so. I'm pretty sure they were duped, probably, but besides that, our Legends event gave them out, tradeable Miraculous, for 3 trophies, which could easily be farmed, so that really dropped the price. For a while, they were like 15m each.
