i like how lots of people are speculating that Luffy is going to eat it and become fire-rubber man. While I could see that as a possibility, there would need to be an added explanation for why he can possess two fruits and survive. The only option i could see him actually eating it would be if he lost in the tourney to someone, then elastic stretch to bite the thing before the bad guy got it, since that would be something Luffy would do (because pineapple logic).

The best theory i can think of would be that He gets the fruit and saves it for someone who he considers "nakama" enough to carry on Ace's influence elsewhere. Or he just hides it somewhere and leaves it to be forgotten in time.

They could always go with the "Will of D" being the reason that someone could eat more than one fruit.

Still, if someone allied with Luffy does *have* to eat it, we can already rule out Brook, Robin, Chopper, Kinemon, Momonosuke and probably Luffy, because they already have fruit abilities.
Of the remaining major allies, Zoro, Sanji, Franky, Nami, Ussop and Jinbei, I don't think that Jinbei would want a fruit (Losing the ability to swim would be terrible for him) and Zoro doesn't seem like the kind of person to really want a fruit ability, nor does Franky. That leaves Nami, Ussop or Sanji. And honestly, neither Ussop nor Nami could do the Mera mera fruit justice (If one of them gets it, it would have to be played for laughs...).

So I think Sanji would be the most likely to end up eating as it would suit his fighting style and current abilities more than anyone else currently allied with luffy.

Read a theory on some other forum that stated that Luffy would get the fruit, hide it and protect it, then, after he became the pirate king, would give it to a kid that he would see that resembled Ace and him when they were younger. I think it's a very poetic end for One Piece, but i don't think Oda is going to do that any time soon.

Nah will of D has nothing to do with it, blackbeard has a different type of body we haven't had explained to us yet. Plus it's been stated by oda many of a time that he wants luffy to keep his rubber powers because it's such an underated silly skillset.

I really want usopps kabuto to eat it to get the fire pirahna haha.

It was pretty much confirmed this chapter. If you notice while he was walking out he left a note saying the organization will cover it. Not to mention his apprehensive explanation to luffy, or the fact people recognized him. Those are big clues for me, as a bounty hunter I doubt he'd leave paper like that lol. And specifically he should be the fujikora that was referred from the new fleet admiral earlier.

Also I love the similarities between DD and crocodile arc's. Crocodile stayed towards the start of paradise, running an organization that luffy heavily got involved in. Now here we are at the start of the new world where DD lingers on the border. I'll be dissapointed if luffy fights this tournament just to get his brothers fruit. I just feel like luffy shouldn't give two damns about it, just because of his simple personality, his brother wasn't the fruit, his brother was just his brother. I can understand the attachment but I just felt like he should realize this now not learn it later.

Uh? "Foreshadowed"? He can already cut fire. He can cut anything now because he uses Armament haki Rolleyes.

Now, he was foreshadowed to be able to set his swords on fire, but he wouldn't need to feed a sword the meramera fruit to do that, he just needs to copy Kinemon (Seems likely too: Luffy and Sanji already copied techniques of other people, why shouldn't zoro?). Unless of course Kinemon joins the crew full time, then I doubt zoro will steal his style of attack.

Kinnemon has fire style manipulation with his sword, which I believe is a style zoro will adopt after he proves he's worthy of the sword from thriller bark. Or that's my interpretation. I don't think Kinnemon is goin to join because we need a female, it's so disportionate right now lol

"need a female"? Why would the gender matter? If start going by arbitrary divisions for our logic for who will be the next crew member, first we need another animal because the crew only has one.

A minkman is a good possibility! But for me it's just personal preference, I want another girl. I think Kinnemon is going to be like Vivi and be left at the wano country.
