Chaos HT necklaces are one thing, but I draw the line when equipments could not even exist without hacks. 27 att shoes, (scrolls where to few all across the servers to even produce one of these without dupes) a trillion stars on an item, crap like that. Like so many already said, it is impossible to be legit in the true meaning of the word, but that does not mean we should just stop trying to better ourselves. Just my view.

In the past I would have reported it but having seen Nexon's negligence in regards to even the most simple tasks (removing this pomegranate) I would absolutely take its destruction into my own hands given the chance. And I would love every minute of it.

I always compare it to single player games, do you play this game for yourself or for others?
If everybody, let's say, used Gameshark in Final Fantasy 7 to get hacked weapons with a thousand Materia slots and +255 attack the moment they hit Disc 3 so they could beat the end-game bosses easier (and then post videos of their high damage on Youtube), would you?

However, if I find out, I will force myself to destroy it. My equips are a bit crappy as it already for trying to be legit. (not even 1 star in any of them)
I depend a lot on my control, using skills such as slow to lhc. Still my damage isn't half bad with my decent equips. If its hacked, nty.

This always gets me. People trying to rationalize chtps. Yes, there are some legit ones on the market. But I don't believe there are more than half a dozen, TOTAL, legit 40 stat chtps. Every single player that has a 40 stat or higher chtp has a hacked illegit item. But because it's so common (I have one) and well accepted, it's rationalized away as being ok. Silly people.
Personally, I don't think it's realistic to be a high level that goes on bigger boss runs (PB, Empress, CHT, likely VL and normal HT fall under this catagory) without having some interaction with hacked items and/or hackers. So, I don't pretend that i'm somehow this super legit player.

Silly people.I gave a perfectly fine example on my view about items, that does not mean you get to trample all over it and blurt out it is silly to think differently from you. A Chaos HT necklace could be obtained without hacks, the two other examples I gave could not. No where did I say it was legit to have a necklace though, I just stated where I draw the line.

I think, and correct me if I'm wrong, that the reason legit CHTPs are so rare is because of bugs, glitches, and interference from hackers. It is not by design that they are (nearly?) unobtainable now.
This is as opposed to the items mentioned by CarrionCrow, items enhanced more times than fits in the window, or 27-att shoes, which were never meant to exist. There's nothing inherently wrong about a CHTP, as there is about a 301 attack craven.
btw, I don't have a CHTP, 40-stat or otherwise, so it's not like I'm trying to justify using one and calling yourself "legit". Just saying it's a different level of "illegitimacy". The way the game is now, each person has to draw their own line of what is acceptable to them and what isn't.
(I'm a bit indecisive here about GM-scrolled weapons. On the one hand, Nexon is pretending the drops in GT were intended and were only stopped because players complained. On the other hand, we all know it was a glitch, and furthermore, not that many scrolls dropped... most of them in MTS and FM were duped. On the third hand, the same result could be obtained by using 10's+Pam's/Whites (or 30's+Pam's/Whites+Wards), so the items themselves are not inherently impossible. But I digress).

I wasn't talking about half a dozen in all worlds, no. However, worlds like windia and possibly scania and broa may have been able to get a dozenish, whereas smaller worlds like khaini and bello and then the basically dead worlds couldn't have brought in many chtps at all. I'm also only talking about 40 stat chtps. Currently, while very difficult, the 25 stat chtps are obtainable legitimately.

People bring me on runs with my Evan where I'm positive I'm doing less than 1% total DPS because I keep all of the useful buffs up at all times, including Phantom Imprint, which most Evans simply ignore even though it is probably our best skill overall.

I love the "I'm already illegit so I don't care about abusing even more of glitches/hacks". It's something like "hey I stole 1 dollar from my brother, OH DEAR I'M AN OUTLAW, oh well might as well kill everyone I know now".
Not that I care about Maple now, I'd take it and destroy it.

Yeah man. Maple totally requires skill and knowledge on how to play your character. Being a buff mule, by pressing certain buttons every X time, is hard work!

It's not even that. It's just come to the point in the game's life where it doesn't even matter anymore. People who give a damn about Maple have long abandoned the "Legit vs Illegit" debate as there's virtually no meaning behind it anymore.
