Those are the people who Nexon could in fact pay bug-bounty to and improve their games by working with.
It still isn't what tespia is. While this would be a good idea, Nexon isn't doing it.

The point was never about what Tespia is, it was about what it could be.
The sentence that started this discussion was "Done the right way, Nexon could use incentives to motivate hackers to improve the game.", clearly not in past nor present tense.

You're putting all hackers under one bubble. Not everyone who creates exploits sells them.
Also, not everyone who has the capabilities to create exploits creates them.
If testers are enticed to find the potential exploits first, then that preempts the seller's ability to make money off of that potential exploit.

Hackers will NOT tell nexon what exploit they found. Yes, nexon wants you to find problems, but not problems where it requires you to to use third party programs. You are not suppose to be using those methods in the first place! i believe this is what octo is trying to tell you. Tespia is used to test new content that is coming out. Also why should someone hack on the test server, those hacks might not actually work on the live server where it count the most.
You're pretending that authorizing it on the test server will somehow make it worse on the live server.
That's nonsensical.
I dare you to give one example of a hack that would work on a test server but not a live server.

It's the same as saying if Tespia weren't Tespia, Tespia wouldn't be Tespia. Why is that a discussion at all?
And the post "heard round the thread" so to speak was actually not about this "discussion" at all, according to the person who posted it.

People who like to know how games work, like me as a developer, may know something more than you do. I'm not a hacker and yet I know how stuff works. It's actually good if you know how certain things work so you can report them as a legitimate player.

I wonder if Nexon includes the Banwave of these exploiters the next server check already, because scanning for them in the database logs is really easy.
It's just sooo easy for Nexon to check for this, just check logs if people who have a critical ring + db blood mask + evan onyx glasses, leveled up on that account on any character 240 times, between the start of the chaos patch and the time they got all these items, if not => permban.
Really easy and quick...
Also, really stupid to use this obvious exploit, hacking on your main account... lol... scriptkiddies... :')
