I don't understand how a game with so little to offer can be interesting for so long.

I believe my friend in the guild was hacked two days ago. I don't know for sure because when he went on he didn't talk to us but when we tracked him he was standing by storage. If you look up all his characters on the rankings nothing is taken but his weapons, and if you check him in game then none of his EVO rings are taken or anything just the weapons he was wearing. Don't know could just be his brother or something>.>
Two days until my ultimatum is up; I close all my accounts permanently; and evict myself permanently from all attachments to this game. May or may not also stop regularly visiting this site as well, since my addictive habits tend to get the better of me more often than not.
This isn't to say I hadn't planned on quitting shortly anyway, since my simple secondary goal of getting all classes to 3rd job was nearly complete. It's pathetic considering I had gone as far as planned out all their final gear and made a spreadsheet regarding progress, but one can only take so much. My main regret however is that I could not end my experience by my own hands rather than having it taken from me. True my situation was far less drastic than others and I had the backups and means to recover relatively easily; but that doesn't change the fact that there is a security hole in the game: and certainly doesn't change the company's history.
I write this now rather than in two days since I have no hope for them.
Side note: How does one change their forum name? I only selected this one when these forums were created since I noticed people using their IGN as a trend at that point, and had established LSJ as my main by that point versus not having one when we were all still part of Sleepywood.
There's a few things I could consider of this game as impressive. And it's not customer support.
1. Simplicity. The game is EXTREMELY easy to understand. Buff, attack, move in 2D. There's not much besides that. however...
2. Variety. Let's face it, with the latest additions, you can aim for quite a lot of things. Monster book hunting, personality traits, improve your gear, level up, do quests, get that cygnus to 120 for the buff, get your 4th job mastery books... Lots of goals, and without the need to leave your main, since it improves it one way or the other.
3. Ease to update. This is a clear one. It's a 2D game, and simple. It's practically a piece of cake to create new content compared to other titles. Specially the 3D ones. That keeps the game fresh and brings back old players with ease. And it's not the "NEW" factor, but also because it keeps adding into #2. Events fall into this category too.
So yeah, with those points, you turn a too simple game into something that can easily lure you in.
Also, everything is made of nicotine
I ve got hacked too, a xbow with some good status that wasnt even worth 20 millons, and my WG with 8 atack,
that was all they took and some mesos, they didnt know anything , i didnt enter my account in years, ya really it sucked , dont know how they do it, they just enter the account and steal pomegranate they can
Still not hacked and I have over 20b worth of stuff on my account. They also know my ID (and the associated main character's name).
This is by locking my account every time I'm not on it. Do it, people. It can seriously hinder hackers' abilities to get on your accounts.
I got account reactivation links sent to half a dozen of my accounts yesterday... wonder if that means the hacker got in but they were disabled at the time.
Sure.
First of all, it's fundamental to say that you need to have access to the account's associated e-mail account to do this.
It's fairly simple, peeps: whenever you're not on your account, change your password through Nexon's website to one which has special characters in it (or only consisting of them). By special characters I mean stuff like symbols (★ etc.), not *,% or so.
Once you've done that, it'll say there has been an error, but it'll change your password anyways, sending you an e-mail saying that you've done so. After that, it'll be impossible by anyone (including who knows the exact password) to enter your account, because the website will always keep refusing it.
The only way to gain access to your account back is by using the "Lost Password" form of the website, which will send a link to the account's associated e-mail, through which you'll be able to change password to a normal one that makes your account accessible again.
This has worked for me (at least until now), and should always work, unless they're using a method to make the Nexon's servers think that you've been authenticated even when you haven't, without references to the password itself, which shouldn't be excluded from the possibilities considering how many people who never gave out their infos or did strange stuff have been affected.
Walp, about 3k NX got spent on a single arrow in the MTS.
Good thing I didn't have anything else worth stealing. :v
Some may not have seen this:

This could explain some of the earlier hackings of those with weak passwords who have never changed them since before April.Quote:
It [Nexon] said that in April 2011, a server in North America was hacked and that may have led to access to encrypted data on 24 million accounts. Nexon found that virtual currency had been tampered with and it suspended the accounts of users who saw abnormal increases in virtual currency.
"Nexon has 3,537 employees, including 1,507 employees in development."

And wait, is this saying they made 107M profits with 903M total in 2010, but made 229M profits with 668M total the year before?? "In 2010, Nexon’s revenues were $903 million, up from $668.2 million a year earlier. Net income was $107.5 million in 2010, compared to $229.2 million a year earlier." I can't be reading that correctly...
Huh. Well, I hadn't logged on for about a month, but now that I just logged in, my account is completely stripped. I had only gotten on because a friend asked if I had some of his gear, which I did not. He was also stripped while we weren't playing. Oh well.
My guild leader got hacked yesterday, looking like it was the same story as most of these. I've managed to get myself autobanned for 30 days so I'm not too worried for now, but I've been locking my account as Combattente said. It's like a really pomegranatety game of roulette.
