I dont mind potion cooldowns with a boss fight like that (just so there can be a little more of a challenge).
But nexon might as well set everyone's health to 100 when fighting bosses like this and get rid of defense.

In fact in phase 2, the super knockback attack and the lightening bolt does take defense into account. Though the lightening bolt deals 2100000000 damage so it really does not matter...

The fight actually looks pretty fun and challenging. The HP and defense though is ridiculous. Either have a skill based boss or a NX-damage whore based boss, don't have both in one.

Or both (aka this like you said), so only an incredibly small portion of the community can partake in it, and even more of the casual players quit because they can't enjoy the new and exciting content. There's a lot of cool stuff in this game that a lot of people can't enjoy because they don't want to spend a lot of money on the game. If Nexon wants people to play this game, they need to address that.

the sprite for the boss looks really cool but it looks beyond stupid to fight.

i'll never understand the mindset where if you can hit big numbers, an enemy has to have like 100x those numbers ~to be worth the fight~

This just makes me wonder how much more ridiculous the Black Mage is going to be when he's finally a boss.

He's probably going to have ten times the HP, higher defenses, and fill the entire screen with instadeath attacks.

Actually I would be more worried about Damian and Lucid than the black mage. Damian is perfectly fit for the next BlockBuster given his origins, being brother of DA/DS and his relationship with Arkarium.

This is certainly the fun, intuitive gameplay we all have been asking for?

I mean, who doesn't want their HP to be sapped be a single touch?
Who doesn't love the disgusting amount of zeroes in that hp count?
Who doesn't think that getting through all of that % def will be light on the wallet?

I could see mages being pretty good at it too, F/P especially since Inferno Aura would help take care of the bombs. Phase 2, on the other hand, looks like a nightmare.
