Get a Cygnus to 120 → Do a quest → Make an "Ultimate Adventurer" → You start at level 50 with a Cygnus-type outfit with +14 to all stats (?) and it has a set bonus, I THINK you get some special skill between your Cygnus and your Ultimate Adventurer, your medal says <Cygnus character's name>'s Successor, etc. etc.
Pretty much, if you have a level 120 Cygnus character, you get a free level 50 Adventurer with a nice equipment set, granted that you do the quest required for it.
Oh, and Ultimate Adventurers also get a special skill that's a mock-version of a certain Cygnus skill of your corresponding class. For instance, warriors will get Soul Driver.
