Re: Dragon Nest Social Thread
Spadow, I'd say that Crusader should not pick up Divine Punishment and Iron Will. Don't pick up both block attack passives (Divine Ascension and Vengeance I think) either. You can pick up Heart of Glory using the dual ultimate system anyway (learn one ultimate, you can learn the other without needing to have the pre-requisites for it).
Marksman, for Guardians... It's a bit more complicated. I hear Divine Ascension becomes really good damage at 60 cap after you get the EX (it becomes a light element physical skill with the EX, so it will benefit from Conviction Aura's light attack boost). Not sure about Vengeance. I know that Divine Punishment and Iron Will can be safely left at Level 1, and I don't think anyone goes above Level 3 for Stance of Faith since not having the ability to jump can kill you in some cases at SDN and GDN.

Salvation Group 1 has obtained the Limit Breaker title! As far as I know, we're the second group in NA to obtain it.
Re: Dragon Nest Social Thread
One more question - what NX items should I get?
Like, in Maple, getting a pet with auto HP isn't necessary, but is really helpful. Are there any items like that? (not auto HP specifically, just items that makes things easier/more convenient)
I love the level up box thing. 1.6k nx for 30 extra slots in bag and storage? yes please!

You get another pair of those coupons btw.
As for NX, wait for event sets, they're like 30k NX, permanent and give pretty decent bonuses. Pets loot for you and give stat bonuses, pets last 30 days, and can be revived with Alicorns for 1.8k NX. Pet equips are permanent and boost stats as well. For the rest, Dragon Eggs (like maple events with Emerald Mirrors or those Ice cubes/Microwaves or whatever) give better wings/earrings/rings than NX gets you but for a quick buy you can buy wings/earrings/rings for NX and not test RNG. Buy Shiny Star Fragment rings off the Marketplace though. There's a set bonus for magic rank (Green) NX items and those rings give decent stat bonuses compared to straight NX rings.

Alternatively you can lower some DPS skills to obtain iron will:

@Above: the max MP passive is something I personally find useless (I only ever have 1 to unlock the regen passive), the toughness passive is somewhat unnecessary since virtually all physical attacks can be blocked. Also it's a bad idea to overlevel stance of faith since it prevents you from jumping for its duration, meaning it can actually kill you if used at the wrong time. I've heard from a guardian friend that sacred hammering and shield charge are actually viable DPS you could put those points into, and/or you could get a point in divine ascension (the counter) because it gives you more agro.
I checked the first link. How come you have level 1 Heart of Glory (Divine Avatar in Europe) if it requires level 1 Iron Will? You have 0 in Iron Will.

As long as you have the requirements for one of the lvl40 skills, you can add points in the other.
Re: Dragon Nest Social Thread
I'm currently level 27 and using a level 15 mace (should I be using mace or flail? Or is it just preference?).
Do the saints haven questlines give equips like in carderock? If not, what gear should I buy from the marketplace/where should I hunt for my gear?
I seem to be completing dungeons just fine, though. So not really in a rush to upgrade.

1. It's preference but I would highly recommend a flail over a mace.
2. Yes there are quests that give you gear just like before. The normal/green gear doesn't drop anymore to combat gold farmers, but that also royally screwed over new players as well. I would not spend too much gold on those gears though. You should only buy gear if you need it to complete dungeons and/or to get more durability.
If you haven't, join a level 25 guild and buy the NX set that gives bonus exp, costs like 170g i think. You can apply to guilds in-game and then they can process you. Some guilds don't like abusers like that though while some guilds just want more people and don't care. Guilds also give you bonuses like less durability used, more faction points for turning in gifts, etc
Also finding someone to power-level you 39- is hard because there's a lot less incentive. Finding people at 40+ is a lot easier and that's when dungeons are going to take a while for a pally to complete. Completing quests and doing dungeons will only get you so far. However finding a good power-leveler can be hard sometimes. If they clear ruined village (the grind dungeon) in 6-8 minutes, that's too slow. You want people that can clear it <4
If I'm free I can do it. Just post here. Same rules, "my drops your exp" apply.

You need to actually have the level 40 skill to unlock the other, not just the requirement. Also the two skills will share a cd, ie: if you use Heart of Glory/Divine Avatar (125s cd), you will be unable to use Divine Hammer (normally 120s cd) for 125s.

At this point in the game, doing every single quest will get you to 50 shortly after you start the Lotus Marsh quests. It may depend slightly on how many capped chars you have (I did this with 1 level 50) and what difficulty you attempt (I do 1 Masters run for the achievements then Abyss only from there on) though.

Doing lotus marsh abyss on a geared level 40 is practically suicide and takes forever. Not worth the time and exp compared to master.
Doing lotus marsh abyss on a level 40 nowadays with the gear given to you is impossible.
This is based all on soloing as most people when they party want to get power-leveled. Roughly
75-85% of parties for lotus marsh are a power level party with a strong level 50
10-20% are parties that don't have a level 50 but are strong enough to do abyss, or maybe just master
5% or less are parties that go together to do quests
This also depends a lot on the class. As a pally he can solo stuff pretty easily without dying, it'll just take a while. If you play a new sorceress, unless you invest a lot of money into low level gear, you have to do hard mode, maybe master, just to pass lotus marsh dungeons.

Ah right, forgot I tried Abyss LM on my Gladiator and was soundly tossed around. I stuck to Masters, but I still finished before I even finished 3 or 4 quests from the main story. And yeah, my Mystic I'm trying out is the only char I haven't had living in Abyss modes seeing as she dies too easily and also has a great lack of DPS compared to the Alch/Acro I'm working on which both solo Abyss with great ease. Granted, I do use the gold I gather running dungeons on Epics and usually +6 at least a weapon/off-hand. I've never been one for party grinding as the few times I've tried it, my exp and speed suffered. On my Engi I solo'd Master's RV faster than any party I joined could do it on Abyss and I didn't have to wait on people who had slow computers or things to take care of irl. Nowadays I only join parties for nests and dailies.
Which reminds me, Group 4 made it to Kalahan today, we could have won probably had we all been on the same page at spiders and Kalahan. On our second run only 1 died to spiders because a few of us hid in a corner to wait out the swarm when we could have DPS'd it fine. And at Kalahan we were too scattered for FF and we noticed after most of us died that had we gathered and gotten FF, we could have probably DPS'd Kalahan after the first flower.
Re: Dragon Nest Social Thread
Grats on making it to Kalahan. The dragon will one day fall beneath group 4, and all four of Salvation's teams will be able to clear GDN regularly! :D
Re: Dragon Nest Social Thread
Got to kalahan 3 times today. Party's dps is really high but I don't know why they want to wait for 2nd flower to spawn. We wait 30~ seconds for the 2nd flower to spawn at 1.1hp, then it drops down to 1bar and he kills everyone.
Would have beaten him on 2nd run for sure if he didn't freeze someone during party wipe.
Also NA team beat gdn in just under 11min.
Re: Dragon Nest Social Thread
Yeah, the Salvation teams used to wait for second flower to spawn, but then he uses homing icy shards and frozen spikes and that usually nails one or two people every time, so we went '**** it' and decided to DPS hard with FF after 1.7x or something. Hasn't failed us yet.
(It's a bit hard to see under all the flashy skills, but I think the reason why this is so effective is that him summoning Ice Barrier, which he usually does, gives your team like a 10 second window of opportunity to DPS his ass from 1.5x to 0.)
Re: Dragon Nest Social Thread
Hello SouthPerry.
There was a patch yesterday. Nothing really major besides Furious Mezzanine II. It's actually fairly hard, but you can cheese it something hardcore by bringing a Mercenary. Since the Edge of Darkness maps nerf your attack to like 1k before buffs, having a Mercenary with maxed + teched Battle Howl will bring your attack to like 3k, effectively tripling damage.
There's a major difference between Mezz Kalahan and GDN Kalahan. Mezz Kalahan casts a Black Hole that is far harder to avoid compared to the GDN version, as Mezz casts it at range with a really fast suction effect. However, because it's cast at range, you can try luring him to a wall. The Black Hole will either not appear or it will disappear earlier than it's supposed to, effectively giving your team about 5 seconds to freely DPS.
Also, I don't know what's the point of Nexon holding a PvP tourney when all the necessary PvP balance changes are just a month or two away from getting here.

In my opinion all of Mezz Kalahan's attacks are easy to dodge (managed to tumble out of the blackhole suction range), but it's really hard to actually do damage to him and Mezz Kalahan is almost impossible to lure because he keeps teleporting around :f5: My team made it to the final round (Lunar Knight,Warden,Ice Witch, Windwalker) and we all got killed by Blackhole after Kalahan teleported to the middle.

Re: Dragon Nest Social Thread
Be right back, crying.
No seriously, grats on the wings. :D
(Bought 30 eggs yesterday and got a magic attack tail and a bunch of earrings... Feels like my Saint is destined to be stuck with beta wings forever, which wouldn't be that much of an issue if it weren't for the fact that the speed boost they give in NA is actually half that of what they give in all other versions. Dat Nexon localization nerfing...)

Today I discovered Lotus Marsh. At level 44.

._. this is why you follow the main quest line
Re: Dragon Nest Social Thread
Screw the main quest line. I go for all side quests in SH before moving to LM.
Side note, gratz to Salvation's Group 4 on clearing GDN. Can't wait for my splits so I can buy a Judgement Apocalypse Earring to finish the accessory set and buy stamps to sell my Crystal Sparks to then buy something useful/save gold.
