It should be apart of the game's history, not swept under the rug as an improvement for "potential for end game content", when the current cap barely had enough of it as it is.
If they don't deserve the ranking, why do the deserve the mount, the medal, or anything really. They did it, so what right? It's not a personal problem to me, so you can stop acting as such.
It's just as silly to assume they will because 1) their track record of giving a shit is 0 and 2) it's all speculation, just as I am speculating that they probably won't give separate rankings. I never argued that reaching 200 isn't an accomplishment; yes it IS and achievement, but it's a PERSONAL achievement

I don't see how it can be any more clear that that quote. Are you serious? You think 30 THOUSAND capped players isn't an indicator that the cap should be raised? You say you're arguing common sense, but I think you need to look up what that means, and if it's too exhausting and you think it's not worth it to argue anymore then you should quit, which applies to going to/beyond level 200.

I'm sorry but are you reading my posts like at all? Please go re-read it and tell me where I actually, in any shape or form, denied that this implementation is necessary?
Jesus christ, does anyone want to give me a decent conversation?

hmm. I dunno. Probably something about your pretentious and belittling tone. Could be wrong though.
Anyway, it's cool they're raising the level cap, making an archive of the rankings probably isn't a bad idea if players want it, I'm done with this

I'd put the time into it, but most of your posts are filled with garbage like that^ and I don't think it's worth my time. Dusk has summarized whatever point you're obviously not getting from me and you're insulting him and anyone who is against you by pointing out their problems.
Re: Why do people complain about Nexon's changes?
I have clearly stated I am not against the update. Simply that the idea of sweeping the current level 200 rankings under the rug is extremely unfair. If you have to come to any other conclusion, it's a sentence comprehension issue.

On the other hand there's plenty of players there that "don't deserve it because they didn't work hard for it/hacked (Well, this one's obviously a given)". If you're continuing to question what does the personal argument come into this debate it is simply that the people that truly worked hard for it would remember it for a good amount of years, people aren't going to keep browsing the static rankings to check for people they don't care about and ultimately setting aside a place for all the level 200 people sounds like a touching way of recognizing achievements but gives zilch value to Nexon because most of the top players have quit while a large number of the still active players within that range might accept it as a challenge or complain but still play anyway, both of which benefits them more than making a page dedicated to players they've probably forgotten.
As I've said it's silly to not just make a page to appease potentially angry players and it's also less work than attending to all of the complaints but we're also talking about the same company that sees thousands of players all banned for the exact reason and concludes they must have been hacking while the actual hackers run willy-nilly. If I were any of you that cared I'd start looking into a way to capture that data instead if you're more interested in keeping the rankings as they look on the page rather than to just screencap your own.

TL;DR: You don't care since it doesn't concern you personally in terms of practical progression in-game, no?

Yes, because bountiful tears of rage, beautiful elegies for the players of old and rousing epic poems of the hours it took to level up would somehow make more of a difference when the patch actually hits and erases the footprints once thought to be cemented on the shores of time. If you cannot convince a fellow player who has been playing since 2007 of the importance and logic of Nexon preserving the rankings for all to see instead of thinking of a new way to ensure that revenue keeps coming in without using ridiculous phrases such as 'War veterans' and making assumptions about one's motivations for things thought even to be trivial, what hope is there that you'll capture Nexon's heart?
I don't know what is so tooth-grindingly hard about just making a website and capturing the rankings along with the date of capture so that people wanting to study Maple's history can actually review it every now and then (And don't even give me that rubbish about how it could be Photo-shopped because as I've said you're seriously overestimating the number of people who both remember and give a damn about these numbers). Instead, all I see now is a continuous boatload of whining about how this is unfair and how Nexon should do something about it even though we're ALL familiar with their persistent lack of caring and we're all accustomed to making sarcastic commentary about each and every one of their patches.
I ask you now, at what point do you realize that you're fighting a losing battle? Is it the time when you see three Hitler videos complaining about Maple Story a few months within each other? Is it the time when you recall the promises they make and the taglines they use and they failed miserably? Is it the time when your old main is left in the dust multiple times and the difference gets even more staggering with each update? Or how about the time when hackers get off virtually scot-free in the game while people who want to have pride in their legit status can't compare?
If you need any more words so that you can make more assumptions, here's what I predict: MapleSEA will fall before this update comes so you can keep your precious ranking since no one will be able to surpass you forever. What do I care? Just as I feel like I'm going to get to level 200 after so many years of playing someone's going to stomp all over my joy and talk about how it's too easy and I did it in about 5-6 months (Estimated, I'm level 174 currently) so it doesn't matter. You of the so-called old guard act as if spending hours and hours to do what amounts to the same level is supposed to be a crowning moment of awesome that everyone must remember in the form of http://www.heylookwe'reawesomenowandforever.com, while some of us think that it's a bore and frankly something quite ridiculous in the first place because guess what, the numbers of the rankings don't really say anything about your journey to get there and you don't even get to show the time that you took to get to level 200 so how exactly does these numbers help or prove anything beyond saying that you did something and it's there?
You have a choice in this. You're just actively not choosing to do it and you've more or less reminded me that my givingadamn.exe program just stopped working. Now if you'll excuse me it's time to get to level 175 since I'll have my own screenshots for keepsakes and cheap laughs, plus I'll always recognize that as an achievement because I still got there in 6+ years even though it's not with the character I originally began with.
Also, that is not an actual website before anyone asks.

God knows how you read that quote and boiled it down to "I simply don't care because it doesn't affect me" - seriously? I don't see that at all.
Curtiss is making a valid point here, Nexon would do well to simply freeze the current rankings and keep it separate, so that peoples achievements aren't wasted. It's a valid suggestion and what people want anyway.

I don't know how either but obviously telling people that a company that has been stomping on everyone's feelings and precious ~kokoro~ since they broke their first major promise might not have their interests in mind, especially when players obviously care about rankings a thousand times more than Nexon KOREA (Please note the capital letters for emphasis once again that something caught on a website does not apply to the parent company) means that I don't care.
Then again I've told customers previously on a cheap phone plan that it's not in their best interests to get a plan that's five times more expensive and is on a contract just for a phone that will be phased out sooner or later either and the only thing I've concluded is that people sometimes just want to make misery for themselves when reality crashes into their house and makes off with the pet cat.

And 2005 here, but what's the use of using dates when you don't care? Assumptions, along with resorting to an Ad Hominem attack in there. Don't pretend you didn't pick "War Veteran" on a whim. Tell me you aren't serious.

Yes, it's unfair and they lack caring. But you are accustomed to it. Not me. Possibly not everyone either. Again, assumptions, since you like throwing that around so much.

... So? And since you too know that you're fighting a losing battle too why bother commenting on the bugs and listing out missing content? If you wanted awareness you could have redirected people to the right places, or even here. And so what if my oldschool character is left in the dust? Have I complained about the staggering differences between the new-age and and the old-school characters?
You're skirting the issue. All I'm asking for is an immortal (and separate) ranking, and NOT another balancing/patch-up. I don't need to see myself being the tops again on the oldschool character. All I ask for is a recognition of all the old 200s before the patch. Even if you really cannot care... What's so difficult with Nexon putting up a static museum page? And since you don't care, it doesn't mean everyone follows suit either. Again, assumptions.

Irrelevant. Do I need to pander to you not caring? And of course we're awesome now and forever if that's how you wish to put it. I honestly don't care what you think about those efforts, but at least we did it, and not "keyboard warrior"-ing away. And yes, I have screenshots too. But what's the use if it isn't official?

I don't need or want you to give a damn. Neither can I to you not caring. On a practical note, I won't be affected in any way, excepting the loss of a few neurons. So why bother about the naysayers maintaining that all these are useless?
Go on, you can tell me 1001 reasons why Maplestory is still worth playing despite this avaricious and neverending slew of nonsense they're coming out with. With the exception of the ranking being cast in stone, I really cannot care either. Like Khaini, I can just stop playing seriously, and I have every intention to. In-game contacts aside, why not totally quit too if YOU are still complaining about how Nexon is mistreating you and your efforts in-game? Ironic, isn't it?

And the main point is that Curtiss is dismissing that notion as futile since well, it's Nexon. So yeah. And it's a "losing battle" to request them for one.

So, tell me again why you think this is so bad a point to make? You're quite blatantly forgetting that this is at the mercy of both Nexon Korea and Asiasoft and spirits help you if you actually have some kind of belief that Asiasoft will do as you 'requested'. Incidentally, I have also stated numerous times on here that I'm quitting and I will not even come back if we get Root Abyss and I plan to do so immediately after I reach level 200 on my Phantom because I'll reach that goal before things get even worse and my Phantom has more than enough damage range to get that goal, so why not take one last picture down the road?
Oh, sorry. I forgot I don't care and the above question is rhetorical.
I'm not even going to bother responding to your post above this because you're again making baseless assumptions about whether I care or not when my opinion was quite obviously lying in neither direction. Have fun writing your pleas to Asiasoft and Nexon Korea, assuming MSEA is still standing then.
P/s: Yes, I think listing people who trained to level 200 in an MMORPG as being comparable to 'war veterans' is ridiculous because even when it took a lot of time it still didn't need anything but a lot of time and patience.

God why people aren't following the entire conversation chain? I didn't even attempt to coerce him to resonate with my views. Simply pushing a -1 and reporting the post for an infraction doesn't really give a fair judgement of the context in this discussion was formed.
