Re: Dragon Nest Social Thread
I'm surprised war mage is so low on that list. I've been deciding between artillery and adept for my 2nd main as of late, leaning towards artillery. I always liked being a high dps class and I already have a GM so I'll probably fund my artillery instead of the adept. Only thing adept seems to really have going for it is the fact it can get 3 elements on L-grade stuff which makes them really strong. However there's so many adepts running around + one really strong one in my group of friends while I don't see too many artillerys.
In other news, I made my 9th level 50 char last week. Will get #10 and #11 this thursday. So close to finishing my goal last year to have 1 of every single class.
@Above: I think your choice of armors/weapons could be better. If you changed the # of corrupts + totem pieces you have you should activate a much better set bonus.
Re: Dragon Nest Social Thread
Lunar Knights were always a gear-intensive class, but now they need to be pretty near well off (as in, building a decent amount of FD -and- crit in order to strengthen both their magic and phys attacks at the same time) and use a specific kind of build (as in dropping everything below Forward Thrust on the phys side of the skill tree in favor of maxing Triple Slash, Splitter, and so on) in order to even outpace the kind of damage that a Saint can pull off with Chain Lightning and Holy Burst (maxed in most Saint builds), much less one that also has maxed Righteous Bolt.
Those that gear towards raw magic damage won't really be doing anything of note, since there's only two magic skills that can be considered high DPS at this cap (Splitter and Moon Blade Dance) plus one that's situational DPS (Crescent Cleave), and all of them got nerfed.
They were hit super hard in our latest balancing patch that was really designed for 60 cap instead. IIRC Moonlight Splitter and Crescent Cleave got a 20% damage nerf, and Moon Blade Dance recieved a 30% nerf along with its max hit count being reduced from 15 to 10. Sure, they got the Brave/Courageous Shout skill, but it's a buff that only lasts for what, 10 seconds with a 35 second CD? However, Blade Storm is still one of the strongest attacking ults in the game, but again, it's an ultimate every 2 minutes or so.
Actually yeah, they should be above Saints. But they currently have terrible DPS for a class that is supposed to be a DPS class in the first place. I kinda feel sad for them. Lunar Knights have been the only class post-T4 that have gotten any sort of PvE nerf. I saw so many Lunar Knights quit for the time being and reroll something like Mercenary over the past month.
As for War Mages, their DPS is almost entirely front-loaded into Laser Cutter and a maxed fully charged Linear Ray EX from what I've seen. The classes above them have more ways to deal high amounts of damage faster.
About Warden/Artillery, yeah, geared Artillery are still fairly rare. I personally only know of like 3, and one of them is DarkQThunder here. Same thing for Acrobats (of which incidentally Dark here also has a super geared Wind Walker). I don't think the idea of Sharpshooters being a high DPS class now has really sunk in the minds of the NA community yet, as during T3, Archers and Swordsmen in general were seen as useless due to their general lack of good party skills and debuffs.

I would replace my totem gloves with corrupt (have enough mats to get it to suffix 2 immediately and more) but for some reason I can't craft suffix on it (says I need herba when I have pakultos) :f4:
EDIT: Done (just had to take out voicemods - derp)
Re: Dragon Nest Social Thread
Haha oh man, I actually finished capping my lunar knight and been funding the hell out of it :s I didn't realize how bad they got nerfed. Currently I duo with my friend irl, we barely beat apocolypse nest at level 47/49 with full set of sea dragon. He's an engineer though (I think, tinkerer or what have you).
I do enjoy the mobbing potential lunar knight has though, I'll just stick with it and hope the 60 cap will make it better :c
Re: Dragon Nest Social Thread
LK's still pretty decent DPS if there's FF or SB (Luring slice, brave, go nuts), but solo or in a party without cd buffs... it makes me sad (although I'm kinda glad I decided to main artillery instead back when we got 50 cap).
Also I feel sniper and gladiator would be higher up on the list for physical DPS due to the recent revamps (sniper 2nd, glad 3rd, rest moved down).

It does, and it gets even more mobbing power at 60. Crescent Cleave EX and Cyclone Slash EX pretty much consume everything.
Re: Dragon Nest Social Thread
Another teaser at GDN posted on FB this afternoon. I'm hoping it's next week due to no SC this week.

Um... There is a SC tomorrow.
Doesn't have anything to do with whether or not there's a patch next week, though. All the events end on Wednesday next week, so everyone's expecting a patch then, barring any delays.

Usually its on Wednesday but maple and DN both decided to put it on vday. Didn't see the notice until this morning.
Re: Dragon Nest Social Thread
I left Salvation on my Ele, and would like to apply on my Glad. Made a new one to replace the old one and it's already better than the old one ever was (as well as the fact that I much prefer glads to eles):
and
I am currently level 40 and counting as well.
Re: Dragon Nest Social Thread
Started up again on this game and I have to ask...whats with the scoring system in dungeons these days? Never in my 41 lvs of playing my paladin have I ever gotten a C or a D rank in a dungeon on abyss. Always been SSS rank... I dont take damage at all really and what not.
Re: Dragon Nest Social Thread
I know, right? I was making S ranks on my Shooting Star and thought "pomegranate, I never made less than an SSS on my SM, let's go back to them and score them SSS's." 42 levels later and I have yet to score an SSS. I score a lot of SS's, S's, and A's though.
Re: Dragon Nest Social Thread
As the dungeon loot system got revamped with last month's patch, so did the dungeon scoring system.
Now you no longer rack up tons of points for being a class that naturally has tons of multi-hit attacks along with a high critical rate. The new scoring system depends on highest combo count, dungeon clear time, and amount of party members. In most dungeons, it's much, MUCH harder to score SSS (if not outright impossible now in the case of Ancient Treasury especially). However, you get two gold chests if you score SS or SSS now, although this only applies to standard dungeons.

GDN confirmed for next patch. There's a contest for the first 10 teams to clear GDN with video footage showing the entire run. I've no doubt in my mind that the numerous tryhard guilds that have been 'practicing in cDN' will make up the majority of the top 10, but I have faith that I'll be able to place with the local Salvation guild members.

I'll look for you on your Glad tomorrow afternoon, Primates.
Re: Dragon Nest Social Thread
A couple achievements for today:
and
Probably should have bought a Coup De Grace Superb with the gold leftover from buying the Punishment Ring, but I got an epic greatsword for my Gladiator. I sold the Revelation Ring for 2.8k and bought the Punishment for 2.3k, that spark took 3 tries. The 3 superb skill crests of mine have all been free in terms of gold/NX :f2:. The Triple Slash and Frenzied Charge came from pouches and the Infinity Edge came from a gold bunny which in turn was stamped (from my Shooting Star) with Incompletes.
Just whisper me or mail me or something when you get on to add me, joined a random guild that kept nagging me to join in the meanwhile.
EDIT:
Rather than make a new post, I'll just edit this'n:
:f2:
Re: Dragon Nest Social Thread
Grats! I think doing it as a Tinkerer is actually pretty hard due to your squishiness, but the summons do help tremendously.

Patch tomorrow! No patch notes yet, but those are usually released mid-maintenance.

Dat 868 combo and grats on the solo!
Re: Dragon Nest Social Thread
Salvation team 1 did 2 GDN runs, got to stages 4 (Spiders) and 5 (Kalahan) respectively.
At spider stage, you have a VERY short window of time between the safe flower platforms opening and the scarab swarm flooding the valley. It's literally 2-3 seconds, so short that you cannot afford to miss your jump, or else you might not have enough time to attempt jumping onto the flower again.
Kalahan fight is much -MUCH- harder than it looks. Priests like I more or less need Cure Relic on the field 24/7. But the important thing is, don't panic, because as soon as your whole team loses their pomegranate, the run is basically over as soon as he starts spamming his homing attacks and people fail to dodge.
I wish you good luck JP, from what I hear, you're running with Salvation team 3 or 4?
Re: Dragon Nest Social Thread
Our group (4) failed at Stage 2. First poison wave killed our tank, healer, and war mage. The run wasn't even set to be decent anyway, seeing as a few people were no-shows. We ran with a random tank and a filler DPS. We may need to find a way to get our run times more publicly known, seeing as a few no shows or late shows didn't even know it was today, according to the most recent update in the guild thread.
Also, there was a lack of any communication, RC was empty (chat-wise, 5 of us were in the room).
