Some slight insanity helped too.

And we now have a 2nd level 7 Profession person! Huzzah!

*Oh wait, you're not at 1574 yet. Cap it, Felix!

No rush for that. Gonna be a slow process, anyway, until my Ancient Mandrake supply grows.

Have my Witches' friendship set up to allow Potion of Heaven (100% HP/MP) production. Maybe some Invincibility and Cooldown potions every now and then, too (but I don't plan on wasting many Gold Frags for anything but quests).

How much in materials does it cost to make one Potion of Heaven, or does it require time getting gifts from everyone? Trying to see what my F. Mech will have to pay in order to get to level 7 and start churning out her own potions.

They're an easy recipe (no Gold Frags), but they require very rare materials. Bottle of Wind and Ancient Mandrakes. Klonter is the easiest and only NPC that gives Bottles of Wind at Friendly level, so he's the best source of them (still rare). Ancient Mandrakes are tough. You need to have a Trusted relationship before you'll even see any, and the only easy exchange source is Melvin. Both of these guys require Iron/Stone, though. Which is definitely one of the easy ones, but it's not infinite like Potions or Clear Cubes.

So I decided to improve a bit, because i'm tired of relying on others to clear dungeons. this was my first time soloing ryku, thanks to jim helping me a lot =P So yeah I kind of failed this run. 4 tokens used, when I could've used like 2. I lagged a bit at the start too, due to the video recording. So don't mind the room 2 and 3, because they are the rooms that I failed the most. I'm looking for advices of fellow grapplers (Sera lol) or non-grapplers that feels like giving me tips. Watch, enjoy, and laugh.

Only advice I could give is maybe use gauntlets if you want more power, and that never throw an enemy away, they are your weapons, you could of thrown it at someone else. =p

I prefer being fast to having some extra damage, but thanks still for the advices =P

Well, regarding the tonfa vs gaunts thing, I hear ya on the speed. I switched between tonfas and gauntlets on my grappler pretty constantly. At the higher end levels though, I just stuck to gauntlets. The power and +skills on 'em make it worthwhile.

K SO. You're grabby. That's good. The only thing I can say about that is to just keep track of the cooldowns on each grab. Find a certain flow and just stick to it. On a basic enemy, my grappler usually just alternates between suplex, fling, neck snap, and the odd airsteiner. Basically, if you don't watch what you're doing, you run into a mob expecting to grab 'em and be saved by invincibility frames... And get your face bashed in shortly after 'cause lolcooldown. Speaking of invinciblity frames, elbow shock! I know you have it! Use it more often! It's extra damage and invincibility frames that have, on more than one occasion, saved me!

In regards to spiral, Iunno whether you know this or not, but if you hold down the skill button, you jump higher with your grabbed mob before hitting the ground. Sometimes it's just uselessly flashy to do so. Other times, it gives you the height you need to aim your landing right on another mob. I'd go on, but I'm sure you already know just how great and awesome spiral is...

Cyclone suplex. I can see why it's appealing to use that in a mob, 'cause dem shockwaves. But you have to be very careful when you decide to do so. Besides the fact that you're not invincible at all during the entire attack, it has some serious start up lag. If a monster is quick enough to attack you, you'll take damage. Plus, as per the usual business of getting hit by an attack when you have super armor, you'll slow down a bit. That is to say, it'll take even longer to start up your attack. If a mob is fast enough, it can literally kill you before cyclone suplex even begins. I've had it happen before. Thus, I usually use it as either single target damage, or a last ditch attempt at mob damage.

All that's really left to say is:
A) Be careful with seismic punch. That after-punch delay can get you murdered.
And B) Try not to approach with airsteiner too much. Only do so when you know it's off cooldown.

Hope that was of some help - I can post a video of my grappler doing a run somewhere if you'd like.

Original General Dungeon Fighter Thread - IllegallySane - 2011-04-17

Nah you don't have to change if you don't want to, Grapplers are mostly fixed damage, meaning changing weapons won't affect the damage of many of your attacks so much. There are a few that are percent based, but your strongest attacks tend to be fixed damage.

Refining equipment: Is there any penalty to it? I'm sure at higher levels it will start failing and wasting gold, but I ask because another game had a similar system, except as the item rank rises, so does its chance to break on refinement, and it could only be repaired with a CS item. Is that the same here?

Original General Dungeon Fighter Thread - Shippo the Fox - 2011-04-17

Refining does not fail from +1 to +3.

+4 to +6 when failing will go back one level. so +5 to +4.

+7 to +10 will reset back to +0 if you fail.

Going to +11 or higher will break the equip. Completely gone never to be seen again.

This is for purples, pinks, epics and chronicles.

Blues and Commons and reset and break earlier.

Wow. Thanks a lot for all the advices. I already started using elbow shock more before reading your comment, but I really learned a lot from this ^^
