Does Gun booster work with Rapid fire?
No it doesnt...which is why I was wondering about Pirate skills and it if was worth maxing Gun Boost or Grenade instead.
You won't be using Rapid Fire as a primary damaging attack in 4th job anyway. Grenade is...next to useless. The damage is awful.
I think you got yourself confused. o.0
Rapid Fire is a 4th job skill, so you won't be using it from 70-120. at all. lol.
And I don't think you use Double Shot all through second job. I'm pretty sure you get a new attacking skill (that also acts as a mob skill?) so either way Gun Booster would be worth maxing.
Double Fire is a Pirate's Lucky Seven. There's a few mob skills in 2nd job, and a 3rd job skill that makes Double Fire shoot three bullets, but you never stop using Double Fire/Shot/w.e. the crap it's called till 4th job. ;D
Anyway, the idea of using 8 bullets a second while training in the middle of nowhere bugs me. How much more damage does Rapid Fire, maxed, do than Triple Fire/DoubleShot+bullet(._. so many names. xD)?
I know Rapid Fire out damages Triple Fire thing, I wanna know by how much. If it does 40% more damage, I might opt out. If it does 300% more, I'll probably use it.
Well, in terms of tick counts...
Rapid: 160% * 11 = 1760% damage in a certain amount of time
Burst: 210% * 6 = 1260% damage in the same amount of time.
Does that answer your question? Personally I'd still opt out, seeing as we have this:
Cannon: 380% * 8 = 3040% damage in the same amount of time.
@ Chameleonic
Don't skip Booster. It's good for everything from 30-120, and at 120+ it's only useless when you're using ewwRapid. Anything else - Cannon, Flamesplitter, whatever - still gets a benefit.

Oh and while I'm still in skill-math-comparison mode, I figured I'd try something.
Flamesplitter+Amp: 680% * 1.1 = 748% damage to each monster in the same amount of time.
Better than Rapid if you're hitting 3 at once. Himes, anyone?
Yes, it does. ;D I was actually going to opt out because of bullet cost. I have enough issues with space and bullets at level 32, I don't want to double my stock to train just as long. <_< You can also jump and such with Burst/Triple/Double/W.E. D:< but not with Rapid. D;
If dexless is considered 20 dex than what is low-dex? (for a brawler)
...and also which is better, because I heard low-dex is better.
This is just a guess, but:
low dex is as little dex as possible (but more than 20 base) to equip your wanted Knuckle so that you can maximize strength equipments, which would hypothetically make you stronger. A low-dex is likely better due to the fact that they can use their strength to the maximum potential, where as dexless may use ALL dex equips.
But again that's just a guess. I think i'm just going to be normal dex because i'm semi poor and can't afford godly shoes/cape/overall/scrolling etc. My equips will likely remain clean until people start scrolling pirate overalls and weapons (with my exception of my 2 atk cape and spiegelmann necklace. may get myself a zhelm as soon as possible when i get to 50).
I cast Dispel on the myths. Level 1: 34% success rate :f3:
No such thing as dexless. If you have dex equips, you aren't dexless. It's stupid and inefficient to go all dex equips anyway.
Low dex vs normal dex - I'd argue that they're fundamentally the same. Why? You end up with the same dex after equips either way. Only one thing should ever determine how much dex on equips you need: most power at least cost.
What type of equips you get all depends on your funding, and can be determined based on two simple steps:
1. Maximize the amount of str+dex bonus you can attain on equips, based on your budget.
2. Only add dex if you need it to equip your knuckle.
That should be used to decide everything, not some fictitious definition of 'low dex'.
1) You won't be using rapid that much (see at all) until 14x.
2) This is like arguing hurricane vs strafe for a bowmaster except he doesn't have crit. Rapid fire is much faster than triple fire. Rapid fire allows for more fluid attacking. (you can SO EASILY walk while using rapid, similar to what bowmasters do) Rapid fire is not extremely taxing on the bullets if you have at least 8 sets. (which you will have by the time you get it)
8 sets of even level 70 bullets should last you an hour or an hour and a half of using pure rapid fire.
Also, does hurricane still have that start up lag thing? Because rapid doesn't, at all.
Okay. I had a quick question. I'm sorry if this was mentioned before, but I didn't see it.
About Energy Charge...
How exactly does this skill work? Is it passive, a buff, or an attack? Does it work with any attack you use? I assume it's just like the Crusader skill... but I've never played a Crusader.
Also, at level 40, the duration says 50 seconds. Is this how long the energy is gathered before it goes poof?
Edit:Okay, that's what I thought - but it was bugging me. Thank you very much, Russt. ^^Quote:

You would think that every question known to pirate kind would have been asked and answered in a 25 page thread.
