Though facing the same zerker/monk/ occasional grappler/wm over and over and over again got really boring. I just happen to be more sensitive to differences in ping. being in califnornia, where most of the gaming servers are hosted, I get moderately good ping. playing high tick servers in CS:GO, as well as being one of the few good U.S players back when I played Cosmic Break, I've been molded into good ping. (to contest to Cosmic Break, it had a decent SEA population, and in the game lag allowed you to have lag shield, which was beneficial for melee characters to tank hits, I was incapable of that being that the servers were located in San Jose(1 hour drive from where I live). A certain patch was released which made damage hitscan serversided instead of client sided. Guess who dominated that room. nonetheless, because of home server domination, the special room became empty which contests to the performance gap between my skill and how some players "supposed" skill when in reality, they are being protected by a shield known as server lag. its the same kind of people who think they are good, and go to a LAN event and realize they're pretty terrible, because LAN play minimizes ping to near nonexistant levels The return of Dungeon Fighter Online (OPEN BETA PT. I STARTS MARCH 24TH!). - IllegallySane - 2014-05-13 Assuming this actually becomes real... I don't know if I can get back into the game after the fact I spent over a grand and invested somewhere around 1k-2k hours on the game only to have Nexon pull the plug on it, so I don't want to feel the pain of loss again. That and I already moved onto games with more stable lives. The gaming world is too big for me to just return back to DFO like before. I may play again, but no means will I see myself returning and playing as much as I did before. The return of Dungeon Fighter Online (OPEN BETA PT. That's not even all the stuff I broke and gave away. I don't mind restarting since Nexon isn't covering it this time. Although I didn't spend 1/10 of what you spent, that isn't to say I Didn't put in the time for that game :/ The return of Dungeon Fighter Online (OPEN BETA PT. The FB complaints are valid since FB is stupid in its own right, but it is not especially hard to circumvent with a dummy account that you'd only use for similar stuff. I feel weird for wanting region blocking, but... I mean, I couldn't bear to see each region with a constant revolving flow of botters of a certain nationality. I do hope that you get a chance to play, it's a fantastic game with addictive gameplay. I mean, in regards to actually killing things, not the normal MMO grind of collect collect collect, although it does have that as well. OT: I'm hyped. Officially. Sharing this with what few gamer friends I have. Neople, don't let us down! The return of Dungeon Fighter Online (OPEN BETA PT. I STARTS MARCH 24TH!). - Derosis - 2014-05-13 C'mon Nepeople. First, how does the f2p model work ? pay2win or a more reasonable model? And how grindy is it? The game looks fun but I don't think I would spend that much time in it. First, how does the f2p model work ? pay2win or a more reasonable model? And how grindy is it? The game looks fun but I don't think I would spend that much time in it. Very decent f2p model. Absolutely not pay2win, as long as specific event-only items are kept as such (for weapon reinforcement and the like). There is an avatar system where, at least in DFO, you would purchase entire sets or individual pieces that change the look of your character. These avatars had stats, ranked from Basic > Advanced > Set > Rare, with Basic having the fewest amount of stat bonuses (practically none) and Rare giving significant bonuses. However, weapons and equipment are where the majority of offensive and defensive stats come from, accounting for much more than avatars. There are some QoL things in the Cash Shop, such as more revive tokens for when you die in a dungeon, or some potions that restore a percentage of your HP or MP. There is also an item that will unbind items that have been bound to your character, so that you will be able to trade them again, but those were too pricey for my taste. The grind is present, but not necessary if you prefer to play casually and do some PvP. Some "end-game" items require a real time sink, and for some of them there is the RNG element because they are drops, but many items come at the end of long quest lines. End-game at the time of DFO was basically Otherverse, which are extremely difficult dungeons that require careful coordination and teamwork, and at the time were unable to even be attempted solo. Of course, there is always PvP for people of almost any level. I think we even received Fair Arena, with balanced items only for that PvP mode. The return of Dungeon Fighter Online (OPEN BETA PT. Gameplay-wise it's pretty great. You'll get through the levels with minimal equipment. It beckons back to the old beat-em-up days meet RPG elements. It's in between for F2P and Pay2Win. You'll need to pay some money for storage space for sure for each character, but it's usually ~$5 for decent storage, and anywhere from $25-$50 if you want to truly invest in a character since you'll have tons of stuff to stash all the time. Avatars actually give power, and sometimes the easiest/quickest way to get that source of power is to buy the set for your character, so it's essentially hats + stats. You can sell the avatars to others for in-game gold if you buy a temporary permit, so you can technically use real money to get in-game money, so you can get better stuff. As for grindy, it depends on how much you can deal with RNG. If you have bad luck with equipment drops, you'll have a bad time with this game. Most of the best end-game stuff can be very RNG heavy and took people many months to complete a set. The best ways to improve your equipment is giving millions and eventually billions of gold to a lady who may or may not upgrade your equipment. I understand it's a money sink, but RNG can really screw with you here since at the higher levels of upgrades a failure destroys that equipment. It'll also depend on how many people will throw money at the game again. If you don't want to spend money, better be lucky the playerbase aren't going to price gouge you or hoard everything to purposely cause inflation. But in my opinion though, the overall experience of the gameplay will be heavily influenced by the playerbase and whether they'll be pricing stuff fairly, or utterly fail their Econ 101 and sell at prices that no one but goldbuyers will buy. It'll also help immensely if the game actually gets GMs in the game, and they advertise the game frequently so we can actually get a steady influx of new players instead of a large initial playerbase that slowly bled to death due to Nexon's incompetence and lack of care. Twitch.tv DFO channels pls. IT'LL ALSO BE GREAT IF SERIA SELLS SHOP PERMITS FOR GOLD LIKE IN KOREAN DNF SO YOU CAN SELL YO pomegranate OVERNIGHT WITHOUT PAYING REAL CASH.
