1) Slipknot - By far my most hated band ever. I can't stand their music, lyrics, or their crappy pointless constumes. If you haven't actually taken the time to sit down and digest their lyrics, I suggest you do so.

2) Linkin Park - No, I don't ride the "omg i haet lp cuz dey r emo" bandwagon. I hate them for a very specific, more valid reason: they cannot sing their way out of a paper bag. Their music is just annoying. It makes me want to hit something, and I'm not a violent person. >_>

3) Fergie - She's eyecandy, and nothing more. My dog can sing better than her.

4) Slayer - I don't give two shits how long they've been around, their music still sucks, hard. For some reason I find it hard to get into a band that just beats the pomegranate out of their instruments and attempts to call it music.

5) Bands like Cannibal Corpse/Morbid Angel/Cradle of Filth - The names say it all. Screaming until you're hoarse, cursing up and down the wall, making ridiculously violent sexual references (such as one of Cannibal Corpse's albums where it shows a creature ripping it's way out of woman's vagina) doesn't impress me, it sickens me. When your songs are called "Nothing Left to Mutilate" and "Raped by the Beast," chances are you don't have a band, you have a bunch of sick psychopathic morons that can merely pickup instruments. It's not musc, it's noise, and it blows. Hard.

I'd say Hillary Duff had it worse than any of them. Her voice was the one I couldn't stand the most. But as far as just being a person, and being more down to earth, I'll partially agree with you. As much as people bash her music, she's actually not a bad actress. I've see far worse.

And I shan't comment on your "Britney Spears is awesome" statement. Lets just say that I've seen far more accomplished artists than her.

I guess I live a musically sheltered life, as I haven't heard anything by most of the commonly mentioned artists. So my list is a little different.

1. Yellowcard - Whiny, emo bitches. My ex has a hard-on for them, and if I even HEAR them being played within 500 yards of me, I will slit throats.

2. KoRn - Sorry, Jonathan Davis is not the be-all, end-all of heavy metal. In fact, there really isn't much "metal" to be had, there. I am personally insulted by their inclusion in VH1's 40 Greatest Metal Songs.

3. Slipknot - Same reason. Music for posers. Jumping around on stage wearing masks and bashing instruments isn't music, either. Slipknot is not metal, Slipknot is not GOTH, either. True story, some seven years ago or so, I went to the mall to go shopping and I was wearing black jeans, boots, and a Bauhaus Tshirt. Some kid in a Slipknot shirt and those really really wide legged jeans calls out "Hey, are you some sort of goth poser?" and then proceeded to explain how cool and how so uber gothic he and his pals were, you know because Slipknot are the fathers of the genre... or something. Wrong! Try again! Yeah, I hate Slipknot.

4. Kittie - Pure eyecandy. No musical talent whatsoever. I love how people back them up and say "You only hate them because you're a girl and you wish you were that hot." Being hot != talent, sorry.

5. My Chemical Romance - Just god-awful whiny emo annoying crap, GTFO my radio, dammit.

But seriously, asking us to pick the 5 most hated artists is just far too broad of a category. 5 worst Metal artists, 5 worst Pop artists, that's a lot easier to handle, as you have something to compare these awful performers to. I suppose if I had more time on my hands to think, I could really break it down and come up with a myriad of artists that suck.

Here are some more that didn't quite make it into my top five, but don't worry I still hate them:

System of a Down- What the hell? I used to listen to them...What a mistake. The lyrics are just stupid. The voices aren't even good. I thankfully got off their stupid bandwagon.

Linkin Park- Again I used to listen to them, but my taste in music evolved thankfully. I was a stupid 5th grader back then... Good excuse?

Rick Astley- Why did he have to make a song that gets spammed across the internet? I don't hate him nearly as much as I hate the people posting his song all over the place though.

Paramore- Bad voice. Too popular for not even being good. Better when covered. (Sea of Treachery- Misery Business)
