Because you (The normal religion follower peoples) dont take the time to kick in their asses the fanatics to stop ashaming your religion. Outsiders takes those fanatics as the standard because they are the most commonly seen morons. HAPPY JESUSWEEN EVERYONE!! - Mibs - 2011-10-31 I try to be religiously tolerant, and then stuff like this happens. I only have so much patience. No one can convince a fanatic that they're wrong; That's part of fanaticism. I think it's because that's all the outsiders see. It'd be a miracle if people held back on any generalization at all, let alone the religious one. And thats why partly why people mock on religion, because it creates fanatics. I for one dont care if there is a giant hand or a flying pasta monster with meatballs watching over us, just stay the pineapple away from me and dont try to choke me with your religious shenanigans. HAPPY JESUSWEEN EVERYONE!! - Eos - 2011-10-31 Everything creates fanatics. Fanaticism can latch onto any concept, whether it's food, a game, a scientific concept or, yes, a religion. HAPPY JESUSWEEN EVERYONE!! - Raul - 2011-10-31 Eos Wrote:whether it's food I'm going to be skeptical of this. HAPPY JESUSWEEN EVERYONE!! - FenixR - 2011-10-31 Eos Wrote:Everything creates fanatics. But somethings are more likely to produce fanatics "More often" that other things. Besides the most "renowed" (For calling it someway i guess) fanatics comes mostly from religion and politics no? HAPPY JESUSWEEN EVERYONE!! - Eos - 2011-10-31 FenixR Wrote:But somethings are more likely to produce fanatics "More often" that other things. Global Warming. (Anti)Smoking. Diets. Abortion. Anything that can be polarizing is particularly susceptible to vocal fanaticism. Of the four I just named only one has a tie into religious fanaticism as a potential spillover fanaticism. HAPPY JESUSWEEN EVERYONE!! - Luxeraph - 2011-10-31 FenixR Wrote:But somethings are more likely to produce fanatics "More often" that other things.I thought there are more religious fanatics because theres a huge amount of religious people (about 90% of the world). That certainly does provide a significantly larger population of exposure than most things for the fanatically inclined to be drawn to, but I would not believe that it's the sole reason. HAPPY JESUSWEEN EVERYONE!! - Raul - 2011-11-01 ShinkuDragon Wrote:may his noodly appendages bless you (food+religion right there) Okay, much as I may love pastafarianism, I'm not going to count that as a legitimate example. HAPPY JESUSWEEN EVERYONE!! - SaptaZapta - 2011-11-01 Raul Wrote:I'm going to be skeptical of this. As Eos said, diets. Veganism, Low-Carb, "health food" .... fanatics abound. HAPPY JESUSWEEN EVERYONE!! - Raul - 2011-11-01 SaptaZapta Wrote:As Eos said, diets. Well... yes. Technically. I guess. Something just feels wrong about there being food fanatics. :f6: HAPPY JESUSWEEN EVERYONE!! - Moonlapse - 2011-11-01 I don't mind people passing out Bibles and sharing their faith, but I do not like this notion that Halloween is intrinsically evil and anti-Christian. I don't get the reasoning behind that. I don't get the reasoning behind that.Because those Christians are dumb and don't see that halloween is just another carnival (the big ass party before the 40 days of being nice (yeah right) that closes with easter), is like the all saints day is dead to them (lol) and have to hijack the all hallow's eve (hallow aka saint), next you'll see them hijack Christmas eve and carnival. My family is Christian and celebrates Halloween. I haven't seen any verses in the Bible that these people can use to back up their argument that Halloween is evil. |
