Reasons why you play/used to play MapleStory - Steveio - 2011-08-04 I like MapleStory for the art style. Unique sprites instead of just 3D models so generic that nobody knows what game they're from. You take one look at a MapleStory screenshot and immediately think "That's MapleStory". If you look at, say, Dragon Nest... Well, I can think of a few other games that look like that. Reasons why you play/used to play MapleStory - Beg - 2011-08-04 At the start, it was IRL friends who got me onto Maple. Regular night-time MS sessions until 2am on school nights and such other shenanigans. Now, primarilly content and alliance when I (actually) have time and feel like it. Once I've exhausted the new content up to super-timesink prestige level I'll log on a lot less until more content comes along. Reasons why you play/used to play MapleStory - GMSInfighter - 2011-08-04 Being around since beta, I'd probably have to say a little of everything really, what keeps me now is trying different classes but I think I finally found one that I'm gonna stick too until I finally quit (which will most likely be soon, my poor-ness can't keep up with the economy in the game lul). It's been great, and I've been on and off several times, but it really is a little bit about everything. Reasons why you play/used to play MapleStory - dontlisten - 2011-08-05 I like side scrolling games, a lot. I also really enjoy loot-oriented action RPGs. Maple is a sort of combination of these two. I'd like Castlevania Online... *hint Konami* I heard of it from Gamehippo's forums. If anyone else knows what that was... Reasons why you play/used to play MapleStory - Kalemora - 2011-08-07 The reason I started was because I wanted to play a game with my brother. It's a very nice change from other mmorpgs I have played. I first played FFXi for years and felt like it drained my life. You have to race to level and you have to depend on others to level. You can't afk in a party without people freaking out. Then once you level you spend years doing end game everynight consuming more hours of your life each day. You can't miss a day or you could miss a drop that you have been trying to get for months/years. So I moved on to WoW I felt wow you can pick this up or leave it. You can solo up to endgame. But then I decided to partake in endgame and realized okay now that I am leveled this is becoming like FFXi again where I have to play or I could "miss" gear drop. Bascially I am playing because the game seems so simple. So far I only have to solo. I can play when I want. I don't talk to people. It's relaxing. I can afk. Reasons why you play/used to play MapleStory - Nixery - 2011-08-08 After awhile you find that there is no game exactly like it, so it just keeps bringing you back over and over. I mainly play for the love of killing time, the community is just a bonus. Reasons why you play/used to play MapleStory - Eliul - 2011-08-08 1) I've been playing this game too long to just "quit". It's recently that I finally decided to actually start training consistently and try to go for 200. 2) I try playing other MMO's, and I can't stand 3D's like WoW and what not. I need the 2d side-scrolling. With that said, I'm a gamer, and it's something I can't stop in general. I moderately enjoy MS so I just play it. |
